I realize you haven't been to the finals in 50 years, but things have changed since back in the day when the season was 12 games and the playoffs were 3 games. |

As I've said before, you could put anyone with the Sedins and they would look good. Gags completly missed his check and left him wide open. Anyone could have scored that goal.
As for you ripping Lou about Hemsky's goal; ask the masses of goaltenders in the leage how many times Joe Sakic scored that exact goal on them hundreds of times. It was a great shot off the rush and well places under the arm. It one of those that looks easier to stop than it was. Lou played quite well.
For the most part I thought both teams looked a little slow. |

Jason King and Jan Bulis would like to have a word with you.
Ryan Smyth would be the perfect linemate for the Sedins... what do you say about a Luongo, Raymond + Ballard for Smyth, Eberle + 2nd deal? |

I was watching that Edmonton game. No denying they have a poopload of talent, but there is still something missing. It's like shinny out there - 20 kids trying to do their fanciest moves, all by themselves. - Atomic Wedgie
everything is new out there. Ebs, Nuge, Hall are no longer being held back. New coach. New systems. Vets on the 3rd line. Yak and Schultz. These things take time to gel.
In every thread Ive seen sweeping judgements...after one game. its pretty funny. |

4 game losing streaks are something you should know a lot about. Im sure you will have your fair share. - Dean_Youngblood
4 game losing streaks build character. you are half way there!
Whats funny about the leafs last year is how well they played for 4.5 months. they were in great shape to make the playoffs even with their #1 goalie injured. then it went south in a hurry, no explanation or excuses but it got ugly fast and never got better.
This team is way better than most give them credit for and Randy will have them playing a much better team game.
5 big reasons why the Leafs will be better this year
1) Ron Wilson and his insane defence last game plans are gone
2) Bu-bye Monster, good luck in Det. man he sucks!
3) Only 48 games...no time to implode....
4) Healthy Reimer and improved Scrivens
5) improved special teams
throw in a wacky schedule with no games played against the west( Leafs always struggle) and the Leafs are primed to challenge for 7-8th.....(notice I didn't say the cup)

If he would have been square to Eberle, it would have hit him in the chest. It was a nice shot but Luongo should have had it. - Boinker
Earlier he almost put one through on the short side. Trust me, Ebs can fit it in a coin slot from there. If Lu had stood up he would have aimed elsewhere. Not Luongos fault. |

And no comment on the boring ass trap from the Nucks? I hate when teams get up a goal or 2 then sit back and try to clog the nuetral zone. |

Most teams will stand up at the blueline late with a lead. Problem is if the other team gets a goal its hard to get your feet moving fast again right away. |

Canucks start the season slow, what's new, it's seems like it's always been that way. For a lot of years anyways. Nucks ran out of gas in the third, Oilers weren't quick by any means either.
Andrew Ebbett is brutal! When AV put Kass with the Sedins and had Burrows centering the second line things looked much better. Kassian needs to bring that on a nightly basis and he'll be the next coming of Todd Bertuzzi.
After the first twelve games I'd say we're 5-5-2, then we get our legs back. |

Eberle completely bulled his way around Edler (how that happens I don't know. Edler has to move his feet and take Eberle's space away) and made a shot that only 10 people in the NHL can make. During the intermission the Oilers Sportsnet team was blasting Lu on this one but that is complete horse poop. Lu took the bottom of the net away like a pro and forced Eberle to make an incredible shot, 2-1 as the second period ends.
“I’m sure that’s one Louie (Luongo) would like back,” Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault said.
"I thought we played hard as a team and deserved to win," said Luongo. "Unfortunately, it came down to a shootout and I wasn't able to make the saves there. Both guys deviated from their usual moves and I followed them both."
What bothered Luongo more was Hemsky snapping a wrister at 14:05 of the third period to make it 2-2 and allowing Eberle to work around Edler and then roof a backhander to the far side past his glove at 19:56 of the second period to erase a 2-0 lead provided by Edler and Zack Kassian.
"On both goals I could have done a better job," added Luongo. My timing on the rush right now has got to be a bit better. On the Eberle goal, I was looking at the clock and not too sure and was trying to cover the short side and wasn't really square to him. He fired a backhand to the bar. Even though it was a nice shot, I've got to square up and play him true and that's never going to go in.
"It's mostly guys attacking the net from the side and aside from that, I'm where I want to be." - al3535
I like how they almost completely discredit Eberle there, as though Lu is different from the poop tonne of other goalies Ebs has burned from the exact same place. Excuses and nonsense.

Sorry Gramps, didn't hear you... the two rings from our cup final appearances are plugging my ears.
What do those rings look like? I think they only give those out in BC. I know we didn't get any of them in 2006. Pictures please. |

Better Keep both those goalies, in a sprint like this there is no room for 4 game losing streaks. that being said, Corey will be just fine once the rust wears off - billyberg10
didn't he play in Switzerland. should be that rusty.

Same as the reigning Vezina trophy winner who was pulled last night after allowing 4 goals on 16 shots...it happens to the best of em I guess.
Or how about Jonathan Quick, the reigning Conn Smythe trophy holder, lit up for 4 quick ones in 21 minutes on Saturday. |
