They wanted a short term, so no, they wont be.
Subban wanted long term. Plus we both know it will be more than 4. - systemtool
Habs wants short term if it's big money 5 + because they're not sure what they've got with PK. They know he is talented but don't know if he's a franchise guy. But if it's a long deal with 4 per, they would be more than fine with that. |

Was a joke.. but tax rates in canada do pkay a factor into contract amounts.
Thats how tampa and florida are.able to sign players to decent.deals.. no income.tax. saves about 15% a year. |

How? Sign him and then hope Montreal doesn't match the offer? Montreal's cap situation is not great but they'd send Galchenyuk back to junior and Gallagher back to Hamilton and free the $4.1 million in cap to get PK under contract.
Only ways he becomes a wing is if they offer him a contract so ridiculous that Montreal wouldn't match or they overpay in a trade |

PK is going nowhere.
Overvalued at 4 M (if true), but Montreal needs him to be respectable and moving ahead eventually. |

$4.1 + $2.7 in cap space currently available. So is Detroit going to offer PK $6-7 million a year and grossly overpay him? |

detroit could turn pk subban into a top 5 dman...it would be worth it. you think his ego would survive on a team with datsyuk and zetterberg? |

PK is just young and will mature. He's already top Dman on the team and would develop nicely in Detroit. I just don;t see the team making a trade unless Detroit overpays and Habs will match any normal offer south of $5.5 million (my guess) |
