Do you think he can be a dynamic 1st line winger with Giroux or does he have to be moved back, possibly to his more natural center position? - psuhockey
I do think he has to be moved back to C. I really think Voracek is better served on that 1st line. |

Man, a lot of debbie downers.
Lets wait until game 10 or so to really evaluate. Having 20 hours between games to make adjustments, both for players and coaches is hardly enough.
Even if they lose tonight, but show progress in those areas of glaring weakness it can be a successful night. - nails

Exactly. A lot of people have been writing this team off after 2 games. That's plain foolish. The Rangers are also 0-2 and no one seems to mention that. - NickTheKid87
To be fair.. I wrote this team off before the season started. I will still root for them and punch penguin fans in the face.
My expectations for the season are just different the rest. |

I think eventually he could be a pretty dynamic 1st line winger..I think he sees another game or two to be honest.
What do people think about G between Hartnell and Simmonds?

Im going off years of watching this team. They lost.talent during the off season. To expect them to be better.then last year seems crazy to me...
I dont want them to lose. Just being real. - Flyersgod
What talent did they lose in the off season besides a 40+ year old Jagr and Matt Carle? |

Its hilarious. This team is stockpiled with young talent.. and there are people female doging that they will not win. They were sloppy.. no doubt about it, but they didnt get destroyed this past weekend. The Pitt game there were about 10 pucks that dribbled through the crease. G was on a clear as day breakaway that was called offside (tough tough call to make there) and they were playing for the first time in 8 months. 2-1 with an empty netter is not a bad game.
The Sabres game was the second game in 18 hours, the team traveled (it looked like by bus according to Rinaldos tweet) and took the ice in less than 24 hours and came out slow.. they looked fantastic in the 2nd period, had a few goals disallowed and then struggled in the final 6 minutes of the game.
Here is a good idea people.. calm down. - jak521
Im very calm. Seems to me that you guys are going nuts making excuses for them.

I like what I've seen from Giroux, Simmonds, and Bryz.
The defense has looked sloppy, slow, and out of position at times. Buffalo really took advantage of that. I know (hope) that over time the sloppiness and positioning will come back. It has to, because the speed isn't there so they're going to have to be smarter to be successful.
I think Bryz was a little frustrated with the D-men, too. I think it was after the fourth Buffalo goal he kind of raised his arms and shook his head as if to say "wtf?"
I think in general the offense is trying to get it going but it seems to me that many of them are really rusty. Passes aren't crisp; stickhandling is sloppy. Again, time should help that.
Meanwhile, they need to stay out of the box while they're working to get back into rhythm because the PK is flat out awful.
Big game tonight. Go Flyers! - Scoob
"I thought I played good games," Bryzgalov said. "You know, it's not my job to see what's going on in front of me. I've got to concentrate on my work and stopping the puck. The rest of the stuff, I'll let the coaches take care of it." |

Does anyone else not get all warm and fuzzy seeing Talbot on the second line?? I know that will change when Briere is back but even with the year Max had last year he is more of a 3rd/4th line winger. - Stinkfitz
Depends on what you're labeling the 2nd line. I think Talbot can play anywhere in the lineup, but as you said. Is better suited for the 3rd line. |

I bet if this is october, half of this nonsense is gone because its still a hopeful part of the football season |

I see what you're saying. I just think the team is better than people seem to think. I even saw a tweet after the BUF game that read something like "Remember when we traded Carter to sign Bryz and everyone was acting like Bryz was Jesus? Who has a Cup and who sucks now?" The tweet was promptly deleted. |

I'm looking for some substance and something from you that backs up your statements. Every team loses a player here or there every year. You completely dismiss the young and upcoming talent on the Flyers. And completely dismiss the growth factor of those young players. It's not as if the Flyers were decemated by offseason player losses. |

I think a hell of a lot can happen from now until May.. I look at this team and see a pretty deep offensive squad.. with a group of guys who are very capable of playing with any team in the league. They are not as strong on defense, but not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be. On top of that, if Bryz can continue the way he has played they will definitely be a contender. |
