Theres a difference between those that try to break news before it happens and those that break news when it happens.

Eklund, Rico, people like them who claim to have inside sources are trying to entertain people with the discussions before a trade gets done. I bet more trade proposals get shot down than approved. I bet 50% of the "garbage" they write actually does get discussed amongst GM's.

Dreger wont tell you anything until its happened and he gets the go ahead to tell the world. Hes never going to be wrong in that sense.

Sounds like a solid system to me.

He doesn't have a choice. He doesn't have a no trade clause. He signed a contract and he's expected to fulfill it. Players don't retire midseason because they got traded. He has a total of 5 months remaining on his contract. He'll have to put his big boy pants on and deal with the situation if it arises.
