I heard it mentioned on WGR.

nothing personal but leopold seems expendable this season, not because he has played bad but because we need room. with him gone it allows the luxuary to keep a muscle foward (mccormick) and a skilled foward (gerbe) as 12 13 fowards and a enforcer (scott) as a 14th foward.

i think our team gets more options this way than having 2 defenseman sit and wait till injuries. espicially when we have depth in the minors for emergency call ups.

you mean someone who has played for just about half the teams in the league isn't going to quit based on his principals thus losing millions of dollars if he gets traded?

I just don't trust any of this idle gossip or "I heard it at practice' crap. Hell, Paul Hamilton attends some of the practices and has access.

He's STILL wrong AND he works at GR550.

Double whammy for him as far as I'm concerned. I hate to stir the pot but the bottom line is that these guys are pro's. They make big $$ for a game they love to play. Leo isn't going to give away a million plus and the game he loves just because he doesn't want to move away for a few months.

These guys are pro's. If a deal is ever made involving Leo he would honor it.

WGR550 is a joke to begin with. Schopp, Simon, White, Bulldog (stupid name for a 40 something year old) are clueless about the sports they are talking about yet they get the primetime slots. Im sick of hearing Schopp talk about the Bills future when he claims himself to know nothing about any college players coming out or potential coaches, yet they have segments where they talk about the "toy hall of fame" .

Some of the schtick they do is comical and I do like Bulldog although the stutter gets a little old.. I'm just really glad I work from home half the time and the other half I'm driving in BEFORE that dumbass Jeremy White is on the air..

Bulldog is at least passionate and objective. I can respect those qualities. Objective fans are something this board could seriously use. I hate to sound so negative all the time but until this team wins something more than 2 games in a row I'm not ready to plan the parade unlike half the fans on here. If this team sucks I'll tell you so. If I think they've turned a corner, likewise. Right now this team has a loooong way to go to compete in the playoffs with the B's, the Pen's and the Flyers.

Except for a fight Staffs been invisible dont you think ? I dont remember seeing him near the net the last 2 games .

I think staff has played good.. Like Ennis he has been skating all over the place.. He set Vanek up beautifully on the breakaway.. He's been leading out there..

Schopp is technically the host so I understand he is there more to control the content of the discussion, it just annoys me when he shoots down 95% of everyone else's opinion but claims to really have none of his own. Simon and white are brutal. Would rather hear Buscaglia who actually knows the game

Both Schopp and Jeremy White go "against the grain" when it comes to the typical Buffalo mindset. That's why they aren't well liked.

I bet surprisingly not much. A million schmoes like us would quit our day jobs to talk Sabres and bills on the air for a living.

I don't think their salary is anything mind blowing, but do you ever notice how they do those commercial spots for local businesses? I'm pretty sure they get some sort of commission for those.

How would that explain the stations everlasting support of Ruff? I know he supports analytic s in the NFL which I agree with but IMO he doesn't open himself up to any type of real debate by not supplying any detailed opinions, which is fine but then don't be arrogant about callers opinions, If that makes sense

Schopp isn't really a Ruff supporter. I've heard him question if Ruff should still be the coach numerous times. I don't want to make it sound like I'm defending the station, but the guy does have some well thought out points, White as well. Schopp takes more of a "I don't know what the answer is, but I do know what's happening now isn't it" approach. He also makes the point that he wants both teams to be "interesting".

White, on the other hand, takes an "all is not as doom and gloom as everyone wants to make it out to be" approach, which is fair, though he does go overboard. He also tries to think outside the box a little too hard sometimes.

There is absolutely not an everlasting lover for Ruff. Schopp calls for his head consistanly. Bulldog will sometimes. Jerry Sullivan is an active contributor to WGr and he also calls for his head.

Trust me I'm not a huge WGR fan, but they do call for Ruff to be fired.

Grigorenko was a man amongst boys in the Q.
Was our best faceoff man last night winning 4 out of 7.

I just dont see what sending him back to a league where there is nothing left for him to learn there. He owns that league. Just my opinion.

- BuffaloHardHat

Great point, no use sending the kid back if it wont help his development. It's similar to the situation the Bruins were in with Seguin, they chose to keep him with the big club. Even if Grigs spends time in the pressbox he is still around the team and practicing with them. Its good for him to be around the team and learning from the veterans and coaching staff.

That is all true. I don't understand why some people on this board over re-act to the first 2 games. Ennis is dangerous and has been all over the ice offensively and defensively. Stafford looks like the guy we got when we drafted him in the 1st round. Vanek is $$. Also I wish people would stop calling for Leopold to be traded. Leopold is solid and eats up a ton of minutes. Stop worrying about trading him for scraps or a decent draft pick and I would consider resigning him for 2 more years. I know we have depth and solid prospects but vets like him aren't as expendable as people on this board think.

Yea I listen to Schopp more but when I do hear White he kind of drives me nuts. Schopp has just recently started to question Ruff in the last year or so, he does have some thought behind what he says I just question whether he actually knows the sport he is talking about. I guess that is his reason for his lack of opinion on what the "answer" to the topic he is speaking of.
