What benefit is he getting being in the Q? Bigger minutes? Are those extra minutes really quality minutes for him? - HonkFortheGoose
Its a tough one, I can see both sides of the debate. |

Me too. Is more minutes against a lesser quality opponent really better than 10-12 minutes against the highest level opponent?
it's a tough decision either way. I think no matter what they decide, they'll be criticized for it. I would not want to be in their shoes.
Maturity wise, I think it's best for him to be here. Confidence wise, it's probably best for him to be in the Q. |

With the potential for more. What's our next best top-6 promotion option?
And people won't want to hear this, but Foligno is not a lock for his spot, and hasn't shown much that he's fitting in this year. |

Id like him to stay for no other reason than I find him interesting. IDK if he's any good or not at the NHL yet because he hasnt done anything. Hasn't been bad either, but hasn't stuck out. - Homer
Then again it's only his 2nd game . Sure is prolly intimidated with the whole " Crap i'm playing with the big boys in the arenas on national TV" thing

Flynn has been doing really well in Rochester. Could fit in on the top 6 for spot duty if injuries pop up. |

Agree, and they expected him to struggle. Things went just right for him at the end of last year when he was called up.

Any word on why he disappeared after his two penalties in the Philly game? |

Ennis has looked a little slow IMO, he doesn't have that spark he did at end of last season. I have faith they will start to get hot. - sbroads24
I disagree, Ennis has skated fast and was all over the ice last night. I find it funny how others have such wide opinions of different players' performances. It was even stated on the post game show by Paul Hamilton that he thought Ennis skated fast last night. I noticed that because I felt the same way. He looked good, now he has has to finish and set up his linemates. |

I think he is worth the investment of time to be here. The offense will come and right now his size and physicality are great for our lineup. Problem is, how many young project guys can be on a team at once, while still seriously trying to make the postseason and win the Stanley cup? |

While Grigorenko hasn't got on the scoresheet, I'm not worried about him. I wasn't expecting him to tear it up in the NHL, at least not in his first season.
- KevinJames
I didn't either, but I did expect him to tear a few new a$$es by now. |

Agree. Main thing with Ennis is his line had good puck possession and kept the other team on its heels. The scoring chances weren't great, but they will come. |

Grigo needs to play with better players IMO to be more effective. No one seems to mention that he created a penalty with a nice play against Philly and we scored on the ensuing PP.
That lazy, soft, Leino has screwed up Grigo's debut. They practiced together for a week and now Leino's labia is aching and he can't play. And Grigo has no chemistry to work with, and is playing on a line with wingers who have little offensive prowess.
Grigo has looked fine out there. And if Hodgson or Ennis get injured they may never get their top-line center spot back when they return. Give Grigo a shot with talented wingers and he will shine. He has all the skill, it's Ruffs job to put him in the best positions to use it. Right now that is not happening. I won't complain because there is a lot to do with confidence and I can see where being careful with an 18 y.o. kid is appropriate. But they need to get this kid out there with Vanek and Pommer on the PP.
I think as the season progresses and we have a few more practices that Ruff will be able to teach Grigo the intricacies of the PP system well enough to feel comfortable putting him out there more. And in games where we are up 2 goals and on the PP, like what happened probably 6 times in the last two games, He will give Grigo some top line PP minutes.

Homer do you know is the Sabres would have any interest in Nino Niederrieter? I saw him play in the WJ's in Buffalo and have always wanted him here. |

Lindy feels that with the shortened season and some players not in full game shape that there will be injuries. That's probably why he's hanging on to all those players. |

What has he done to deserve to play with more skilled wingers? And which wingers would you suggest? Pommer and Vanek are spoken for so that leaves..... |

I would like to see a shift of two with some more skilled guys. Just to get an idea of what he might be able to do with talent around him. Is taking a shift away from Cody going to hurt him any? Probably not. |

We have had one line that has looked good so far. The season is two games old in a season with an abbreviated training camp and no preseason games. He was playing the game on a different level with different line mates a week and a half ago. What do you want from the kid?
Foligno is not the only one who hasn't shown much. But IMO he has done more than a lot of other players who you choose not to mention(Ennis, Ellis, Hecht, Leino, half of the D corpse). Are they are all locks for their spots? Or is it just more fun to single out a young promising player who people like and from whom they hope for big things?
Don't worry, we will all let you be the first to say "I told you he couldn't produce at the pace he did last season."
Just give him a few more than 2 games to show what he's got. |

I completely agree. Its been only 2 games, and I am guessing his play has gone according to Ruff's plan. Bring him along slowly, and concentrate on taking care of his own zone play before giving him more ice time. Once he shows he is responsible in his own end, then reward his with more time and time on the PP. Then he can earn any changes to his linemates. I don't think its going to happen within 5 games either way. But its also my opinion that they will stick with him and let him learn as he goes. |

Did I stutter. I SAID, POMMER and VANEK! spoken for means $hit in pro sports. how is Alex Smiths "spoken for" starting QB spot? Looks like people with brains put the best player in, not the one who called dibbs. |

Is anyone else really dissapointed in Ennis? I know only 2 games, but he has been downright awful on faceoffs. He gets knocked off the puck way to easy. |

Sure it's been two games. What I want from the kid if he's going to stick on that line is production, period. Why doesn't that make sense? |
