LOL whats your ideal scenario? Try to win it with Gervais, Foster, Lilja , a broken down Kimmo...trade away couts or schenn to do so? |

you're not going to be a cup contender scoring 3 goals in 3 games, 2 by G...you expect him to carry the load. the additions on defense are actually embarrassing...Foster, Gervais...homer just trying to stop the bleeding... flyers right now are the laughing stock of the league, strike out on the big UFAs, lose our 2 biggest UFA as a result...who do you blame? i blame homer, u keep jags for 3 mil and u give carle 5.whatever. hes been a key part on the back end, apart of so many memorable moments. game 82 against NYR, game 5 set up gagne OT winner against boston, set up game 3 ot winnner against chicago - Flyers4Life88
I think Jagr and Carle signed elsewhere because their asking price became too high for the Flyers' tastes. Both players expressed a lot of interest in staying hear but, at the end of the day, the price wasn't right. |

yeah Homer F'd up...its a joke, then he goes and locks up simmonds hartsy and jakub for all this money....idk man, i feel keeping that type line on O and D! intact was important, really makes the flyers look like poop, they were drooling over parise and suter so much the thought of "what if we dont get them" never crossed homers mind and i dont blame either jags or matty for signing somewhere else, they prob felt unwanted and were like wow Homer hasnt even made an offer yet wtf - Flyers4Life88
Agreed bro...I just dont want homer trying to do anything stupid to salvage the season..... |

My ideal scenario is winning the Stanley Cup. OH, and I personally win the lottery first, so I get to attend all the games. |

btw if they tank and get first overall pick and don't take mackinnon or drouin, i will be livid. - OrangeBlack27
I have to agree. It would pain me if they passed on them as much as we need a defenseman. You can't let those two pass you buy if you have a chance. |

Only saw the first and the 2nd period up to the penalty shot.
I thought Luke Schenn looked better last night. Quick effective outlet passes when he had the puck and was being pressured.
That is all the good I can come up with right now.
I cant' get behind the idea of "tanking".
I want them to win every game, or bust their asses trying to win when they lose.
On the first PP unit, I know it had success last season.
But if tweaking things I think I would consider moving Voracek to the second unit as he is the one getting the most good shooting opportunities on his point/half wall opposite Giroux, and his shot is not great and seems not to be getting through most of the time. Maybe try Mezzy or even Foster in that spot. The second PP unit could use another puck possession guy like Jake to get the puck up the ice and set up.
I'm reaching a bit, but that is what I saw. - Marc D
I tweeted last night that I liked L Schenn's game last night.....then within 5 seconds he had the worse shift of his night. |

Except Jagr is getting 4.5M and no one here would have given Matt Carle a 5.5M cap hit for 6 years he got in Tampa.
Homer went for Weber and Suter, it didn't work.
I liked both players but they couldn't afford Carle and it was time to move on from Jagr. - Marc D
Jags loved it here, wasn't about the money....he was playing with claude giroux, let me repeat that he was playing with claude giroux. he would've signed for way less than 4.5 to stay in philly. prob the same 3 or 3.5
and carle is 28 y.o have em till hes 34 and he earned his 5.5 with seasons with 38,40 and 35 pts. and a plus 53 over 3 seasons!
but u resign simmonds and hartsy before the season even starts and simmonds has only been here a year? |

Schenn hasn't played terribly, but with the way the team has played as a unit, it's akin to being the tallest midget. |

I hear we traded Giroux for Andy Reid. It's the first move by our new GM, Mike Missanelli, in an attempt to shore up our sports talk ratings. |

If they re-signed Carle or Jagr, even Jagr at a reduced rate, they can't go after Suter or Weber.
I was one of Carle's bigger supporters, but I wouldn't have given him the deal he got from Tampa Bay |

Simmonds is nearly a perfect role player for the Flyers and its great to have him locked up.
Voracek is a real talent, and I'm glad they got his contract done, for fair value IMO.
The Hartsy deal was a bit long for me, but he has been a consistent 25 goal scorer for years and is a character guy.
I would have resigned Carle at 4.75, maybe 5, but not for 5.5M X6 years.
That is an overpayment. He is a solid guy and they could use him right now, but $33M 6 year deal? No thanks.
Both Bordon and Gusty showed signs they were improving and could be NHL defenseman last year. They are both hurt now.
Getting Foster and Gervais were just depth pick ups as was Lilja.
I'm sure Homer tried to do more then Suter and Weber.
Phoenix was asking for a ransom for Yandle.
Maybe they should have pushed for Jason Garrison, but he was like another Hamhuis, wanting to go to British Columbia to play.

Today, I'm three games into a season. There's still a cup to be won. I call Subban's agent and tell him what I'd be willing to pay PK. Say 6 which is probably what he's looking for. Then I call Bergevin and I dangle Schenn straight up and see where we can go from there. Right now I try to fix the D with someone young and I think Subban will bring an attitude that this team is sorely lacking right now. I would never even entertain the word "Tank" in the first week of a season and I'm shocked that you think any of that is a good idea today. |

Most of the consensus has Drouin behind Jones & MacKinnon. I think if I have top pick I go with MacKinnon, despite the glut of centers. |

Not going to play but thank you. Perhaps twitter would be more to your liking.
What I have seen if the Flyers try to narrow that gap more so this season than previous seasons. What that has created is the forwards not being able to use their speed completely.
The team is trying to compensate for a slow D-core that has well below average in the transition game. Thats problem #1 to me. - flyer_nutter

i dont know how you guys went from wanting to making a statue of holmgrens brass balls when he offersheeted weber to now saying he is the problem with this team. its only been three games, and the players have just underperformed. but saying he should be scrutinized for not giving carle his 5 million. thats insane. yes you guys need a puck mover right now but carle or that? trust me, giving a slightly above average defenseman 5 million a year is not fun. if you need one that bad you can have paul martin |
