What was the Unsportsmanlike on Crosby for? I was watching the jumbotron for the Too Many Men and saw that there was another penalty there too. Yapping at the refs? |

Just finished the game on DVR. That was a clunker. Can't remember Crosby and Malkin having so many of their passes tipped.
I was at a loss for words on Kunitz's second boarding penalty, text book body check.
Leafs played well, Reimer even better.
Not much to add on Tangradi, no need to pile on him. Hes trying, it's just not good enough to play in that spot.

it was said here before, but if theyre gonna call that then kunitz is going to lose a big part of his game. the team as a whole was pretty piss poor. and yeah, i think it is safe to say that tangradi is just overwhelmed in that spot. he is a grinder with some size. no more |

Yeah Kunitz didn't like it and he had every right to be upset. Hopefully the officials can get on point and keep from making calls in the corners on plays like that. He's. one of the consistently physical players at both ends for the Penguins. Tangradi just doesn't fit with the north/south game. I like his attitude and that he trained and lost weight but sometimes the system just doesn't benefit a player no matter what he does. It's unfortunate. |

Well Bennet is being featured in the AHL allstar game. 25 needs to go away....freaking useless. Flower???????????? Umm is it too late to think our backup is better than the starter?
Awwww eff it. This team has massive holes. But its just one game.
Perhaps we decline all home games. Geno's best pass went to JVR.... Nice! - Sell My Monkey
Did you even bother to watch the first two games of the season? The ones where they won on back to back nights in tough buildings to play?
Love the overreaction though. It's the same way with people getting overconfident after two wins. No they didn't play well but can we hold off on the hysterics until at least the second loss of the season?

Yeah they just played dumb and made too many mistakes. Throw that one in the dumpster for me will you? Better effort next one. Leafs played well we played dumb. |

5goals on 24 shots Fleury showed up last night, that's what the Penguins problem was.
More of what Fleury did then what the Laffs did. The Laffs are not very good. |

You can't blame fleury for most of those. Engelland ran over fleury for the first one and the last goal fleury was let out to dry on a 5 on 3. Remember when Fleury stood tall during that string of penalty kills in the 2nd including a 5 on 3? Letang also let someone beat him which developed into a mini 2 on 1. Fleury showed how good he can be when our defense plays up to their potential, but when our defense is soft, They make fleury look bad. Maybe he should of made 1 or 2 of those saves, but our offense didn't help much to get more than 2 goals |

Two observations from last night....1) god awful defensive zone coverage and 2) too many attempts at east-west pretty passes, just shot to puck It's great that hockey is back regardless of the lackluster showing last night. |

I guess you didnt watch too much of the game Monday. The only reason you walked away with a W is because of Miller.
If they can barely squeak by the Laffs it doesnt say much about the Sabres |

I unfortunately saw something last night that I have seen way to much down here in WBS and it happened a few times...most notably to me was the TK breakaway where he passed it at the last minute rather than taking the shot. Many of our WBS guys are known to pass it off too much (look at Tangradi) instead of taking the shot. IF the opportunity is there take it!!! |

What the heck could the conditions be? I mean it can't be more than a 7th right? Kid spent half the season in Wheeling.
However, Shero got over pretty well on Nieuwendyk last time they dealt lol. |

Sneep was a disappointment, but its hard to complain about Shero with where he has the system at right now |

I think the organization was right at the limit of NHL contracts, so this helps give them some flexibility.
Interesting, Sneep was taken in the 2nd round in Shero's first draft (2006). There are no players left in the organization from that draft year. |

First drafts are tough. Shero takes over in May and drafts a month later. |

Yeah, and he inherited the whole scouting department and just sorta went along with it. He did take Jordan Staal though, so that worked out pretty well.
His 2007 draft was probably his worst:
# Rd.
20 1 Angelo Esposito
51 2 Keven Veilleux
78 3 Robert Bortuzzo
80 3 Casey Pierro-Zabotel
111 4 Luca Caputi
118 4 Alex Grant
141 5 Jake Muzzin
171 6 Dustin Jeffrey
At least he got value for Esposito, and made a decent deal with Caputi (although the Ponikarovsky experiment didn't work out).
