I still don't think TK is the solution, but what the hell...

Pittsburgh Penguins ‏@penguins
New #Pens lines: Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis Kennedy-Malkin-Neal Cooke-Sutter-Glass Tangradi-Vitale-Adams

Did Jeffrey bang Byslma's wife or something?

He probably isnt the long term solution but he is competent and is light years ahead of the other options right now.

I am curious to see Glass in a third line role. I like his speed and willingness to hit.

i dont think that team stays downtrodden for too long though. we need to take advantage of it in the standings while we can.

While I'm inclined to agree, unless something drastic happens this year, it won't recover in 2013. This team was put together poorly really. Anyone could see that and you don't have to be a GM. You lose Carle - the only puck mover on the blueline and bring in Luke Schenn, who is horrendous. Your blueline has two competent players - Coburn and Grossman. Timonen is old and doesn't look right; Gervais is awful; they have to use Foster - LOL. Pronger ain't walking through that door. Holmgren tried rectifying it with offers to Suter and Weber, but it failed.

Let's just say Holmgren makes a run at Subban. He would have to offer someone like Couterier for starters. So, the next coming of Ron Francis is sent packing to Montreal, which opens up another hole. They don't have any solutions in the minors either.

The heat is on Holmgren to make a move. However, Hartnell being out indefinately doesn't help at all. There is another hole to fill.

defensively, they dont have the greatest personnel. losing carle sucked for them, as no one on the team is really a puck mover. but i think they were smart to not give him 5.5 a year. luckily there just wasnt many options available to replace him.
right now, their forwards are underperforming, but the young talent on that team is undeniable.

other than the pass from dupes to sid for his goal... im sorry but dupes hasnt shown me anything to be on the first line other than speed. i dont mind him being slotted there if there is an injur but not all the time... I was so happy to see him on 3rd line last night... err i guess the correct wording would be.. i was happ to see him with thrid line players seeing how all the lines were mixed up

i think kuni should go back with neal and malkin and jeffrey should get a shot with sid to see how he does... if tangradi and jeffrey cant play with sid and geno than either trade them or send them down...

Don't get me wrong ... Carle ain't worth 5.5 million. But there were other options out there at the time.

Yes, you have alot of young forwards that are talented - Giroux, Couts, Simmonds (who I would love in Pittsburgh), I guess Brayden Schenn and Laughton too. I'm not putting down Read since I think he comes back to reality a bit this year. But, there are serious holes on that roster and little cap room available to fix it.

true. iguess my main worry is for the future. when they have those young guns and get guys like briere and timonen off the books. hopefully that money has to go right back in to retaining the guys already there on higher deals as opposed to bringing in a defensive answer. i can only imagine what would happen if they somehow sign letang away from us on a mega deal

If anybody wants to read about why the Flames have been miserable for so long I put together some info on it here:

I read your lead and you can do the same thing for the Pirates. The Bucs were one Sid Bream slide away from going to the world Series, or at least one strike away - Damon Berryhill was struck out by Stan Belinda.
