Radek being out of the lineup is the best possible thing for his long-term health. |

I'm still surprised we have seen Finley over him. But he is due a $150k bonus based on games played so maybe this is the isles way of saving more money. |

This team has some heart. It's nice to see. Nice to see Carkner stick up for JT, too. |

Yep. Notice his sticking up for JT caused the gutless wonder to cough up the puck to Moulson and lead to a goal? Even better that carkner kept going after him after the goal |

Yep, he basically flipped the puck right to Moulson. Basically clinched the game. Tomorrow's gonna be tough, but tonight was a game we can possibly build on. |

do you get it now? I told you Grabs Nielsen Boyes line was legit.
While nabby had bad first period what makes him good is when isles tied it, he kept us in the game. DP would have let in 4th softie and killed the momentum.
7 goals is very impressive.
Aucoin had tied Nina Niederwhiner's production all of last year already. great checking line guy.
Finley still has to go.
Lets keep it going. If isles can muster up at least 2 more wins on this trip we had great road trip.
And best of all tonight. Rangers lost. - Spartiarti
Sofar you have been balls to the wall correct!

looking at keith aucions AHL numbers its amazing how he never had a legit shot at the NHL, except with the Caps in 2011-12, where in 27 games he had 11 pts. Martin St. Louis type player, plays with heart, and INCREDIBLE faceoff man so far |

He's got to be better in his own zone. That 2nd goal Toronto scored, he lost the faceoff and made a terrible effort to get back to his guy.
Looks like he can produce a little bit. Ullstrom has played three very good games. That line could be a huge upgrade over the last couple seasons if when Bailey comes back he can be consistent |

PA has been good but i don't miss him one bit. my issues with him have nothing to do with his offense as i have stated in here until i'm blue in the face. we all know how god awful he was in his own end and all the turnovers in the neutral zone. i wish him well..he's a good guy..but so far so good with our lines |

Andy Hilbert? - mighty13duck
Yeah, except no one in this incarnation of the franchise is going to have the brilliant idea to put Aucoin on the first or second line. We are moving forward....albeit slowly....

Good win overall last night, but everyone needs to realize two things:
-They CANNOT play defense the way they played in the first period last night. CANNOT. EVER. PERIOD. The second goal was the worst- Nabokov actually made a decent save on the first shot, but couldn't control the rebound. I don't know what MacDonald was thinking in that situation, but someone on the Leafs should have been lying on the ice, and I don't know where the center was, but he should have been at least attempting to cover SOMEBODY. That was like watching skating practice, with human-sized pylons in Islanders jerseys. It just seems like whatever plan they have doesn't come to fruition until 15 minutes in, and that won't cut it against a good team. The third goal was on Nabokov, but the goalie isn't going to stop all of them- sometimes the defense has to help. "Standing around watching the other team play" is not helping.
-The Leafs first goalie was a freaking sieve. He gave up at least three VERY bad goals, that were all on him. It's always easier to win when that happens, no matter how poorly you play in the first period.
That said, I will also say this: if the NHL is serious about cracking down on head hits, Phaneuf will sit for a game. I haven't paid too much attention to how it works in the NHL, but in the NFL, they recognize it's a fast game, and the refs are going to miss things once in a while. However, the guy watching the video tape doesn't miss them, and players have their paychecks taken away from them anyway. Of course, if Colin Cancer was there, they would still have the "cracking down on head hits, unless it happens to the Islanders" policy. We shall see if that has changed now.... |

look nabby was awful last night..the defense was shaky in spots but bottom line the team was down 3-1 after one and won the game..thats something that never happens. its ok to sit back and enjoy a win..smile..its ok...they still have a lot of work to do but its ok for and islander fan to be happy once in a while |

Also, not a single solitary bit of anything mentioned about the Isles or an actual trade even possibly taking place. BUT...
@gvalksportsnet Trade speculation in Florida...Stephen Weiss a healthy scratch tonight.
Could be a nice second line center for us. Contract expires at end of the year. - eichiefs9
He is hurt.
From Panthers site:
Already missing regulars Kris Versteeg, Marcel Goc, Sean Bergenheim and Erik Gudbranson, the Panthers also found themselves without center Stephen Weiss after he was scratched with a lower-body injury. |
