Yeah, your team got fleeced. You should stick to trading with the Bruins...

Maybe another Raycroft for Rask type deal?

If it was obvious, and you understood it. You wouldn't make the statement that maybe their system made them faster. - MJL
So yiu think that I thought systems won games without players?
Cool story |

he's a punk. maybe he'll mature in a few years. maybe he won't. to me, he's a project that i'm not interested in working on. i also think there's zero chance he finds his way here. - hammarby31
Agreed.. not worth it |

I liked the addition of Schenn but disliked that it came at the cost of JVR. JVR is still the guy that is invisible for several games then has a dominate game but I still believe he is going to be a really nice player. I hate losing that mix of size and speed. - nastyflyergirl
we've talked jvr many times. i almost got into a fist fight over him 2 last year with a meathead drunken flyers fan at the game. i wanted them to give him another year. didn't like the move, but i can live with it. they swung for the fences with suter and weber and didn't get them. pronger's done. cba was a crapshoot. had the other schenn here. i get it. i don't see a sharp for ellison situation here. hopefully schenn blossoms into a long-term impact dman here. |

Luke Schenn has just as much promise as a defenseman as JVR has as a Forward. - MJL
I don't believe that. Time is the only judge. The fact that Schenn could barely hold onto a third pairing role in TO is only offset by the fact that JVR only managed 40 some games last year due to injuries. |

if it's any consolation, he will only play 40 some games this year as well |

From what I've seen so far, his foot speed isn't an issue. His skating is better then advertised. - MJL
His foot speed is certainly below average for a d-man.. but so is his thinking.. he needs to be smarter and think quicker to really take himself to the next level. |

It's so not the system dude. It's the players man, the players. The players play the system and all the systems are antiquated man. They're old. Passed down from generation to generation. It's the players that are new. They play the system a new way. Not that they change the system just the way it's played. The system can't make a player faster but it can make them appear faster if they play the system tighter and when the gaps are closed the players look quicker in the system but they aren't faster.
If you knew the system you'd know this dude. I don't think you understand the system at all or you'd stop asking these questions. |
