agreed.
I wouldn't want to go with Sestito and Shelley all year - or maybe Shelley at all - but perhaps Sestito and Rinaldo both playing might add a needed physical element to the lineup. - FlyerGuy
Agreed. Wellwood's speed at center helped that line last night. Sestito will be a good replacement for Shelley. I hope they don't dump him, they need at least one the large body on the fourth line. I'm fine with Shelley, but Sestito is the future - he needs more experience. Last night, he almost deeked around some defenders. And, he had some good instincts - centering pass, when stuck in the behind the Rangers net. He throws hits, fights, and isn't a huge liability on the ice. |

Hopefully it's nothing that keeps him out too long, but the sling was not a good sign.
Did anybody see Colorado's John Mitchell block that shot with his face last night? I didn't see it, but I saw the results...I won't post the pic here (it is in the vicinity of breakfast time), but it's included in Musick's blog.

The guy came back and scored a goal. That's a hockey player.

Gagne has been a healthy scratch in back to back games for the kings.. I wonder what it would take to get him back here in Philly. I loved that guy! |

We don't have a roster spot for him. And now is as good time as ever to give these young kids their shots. Maybe if someone else goes down... but I just cant see it happening any time soon. |

I'd be interested in adding Gags, but the reserve list and cap implications work against them to some degree.
If Meszaros hadn't gotten hurt, perhaps the Flyers could have sent a defenseman out(I know I joked about Grossmann yesterday) because the Kings lost Greene a few days ago for the year. |

I dont think he would cost too much.. maybe a pick and a player from the minors.. Idk how the cap works now, but with Hartnell out long term.. and meszy going down (and i assume for a chunk of time) we could LTIR them and save on them.. I think he would be a great addition to the team. |

That had to be a joke.. he is a healthy scratch, has had injury concerns the past few years, and only played 34 games last season.. |

and the kings are winless on the year thus far. he's been that bad? i would take gagne back despite his injury history, but cap, contracts, blah, blah, blah. (frank)ing cba. |

Just keep in mind that players on LTIR temporarily, really doesn't save anything. |

Who are we kidding, if Gagne was brought back, he would be concussed on his first shift. |

Back to back games and a top line wing, and top 4 d-man lost long term. It is absolutely maddening. |

It was a fantastic win. Team was playing shorthanded, showed a lot of guts. Very pleased with the effort from everyone. |

oh, c'mon, now. you know he needs surgery and is done for the year. we don't need to wait for any half-truth reports from holmger. |

You can beat a lot of teams with that effort. Regardless of who is injured and out. |

I'd rather not have to use LTIR, if possible. Right now, they aren't using LTIR at all, even with Knuble. |

I don't know anything other then he is injured. That could be the case, who knows. But I'm going to remain positive and not jump to any conclusions. |

I'm hoping it's only a dislocated shoulder and he will miss a month. That would probably be best case scenario. |

Im going to make a conservative guess and say 2 weeks... minimum. The way he skated off with his arm hanging, and the fact that he was in a sling.. to me suggests either a separation or dislocation.. I just hope he didnt trash his labrum or worse. |
