The Rangers need to pound the Leafs at home tomorrow night. Put me down for Nash for 2 of a total 6.

Boyle is good enough for what we need in the bottom 6...so is Pyatt. Our problems are exactly where we thought they were before the season but its more problematic than we thought. The 4th line sucks and we may have been bankign too much on Kreider beign able to step in right away. On top of that everyone, yes everyone, isn't playing up to snuff. The group needs to get better and we need a 3rd line forward in here.
- mrhattrick27

Nobody that was needed to step up at forward, has done so. If Hagelin, Boyle and Stepan all played well we wouldn't be having this conversation. The fourth line was little used last season and we didn't say much about that then because a lot of the forwards, on the top three lines stepped up enough for them to win.

If you were the GM of this team right now, what would you do?

1. Stay put and be patient?
2. Call up miller or someone else?
3. Sign or trade for a veteran forward?
4. Pray?

My choice would be a combination of 3 and 4.

Well, considering the Rangers are 1-3, they better be damn well pissed to. I think it will very revealing if they don't show up tomorrow night with an A effort.

3 as even if we were 4-0 i'd be exploring this option.

Make that option 3 but we need more than 1. 2 would be nice.

they gotta be really sure of what they do though.

They have very limited cap space and if they give someone like Arnott a million and he sucks, they can't send him to the AHL and rid the cap hit.

Id put Boyle on 4th line, sign Arnott, call up Miller give him a shot, make a couple more trades for the bottom 6.

people on other blogs suggesting signing Subban to offer sheet.

That little detail about not having our first rounder this year doesn't seem to matter.

Nor does not having cap space.

They need a win tomorrow night as desperately as they needed it Wednesday against Boston.

Anyone try scorebig.com yet, I got seats for Tuesday against Philly for $40 less than stubhub, site is money.

Adam, you don't want to he hear the BS about Prust leaving, but the fact of the matter is that a substantial portion of core of that team that you loved last year is no longer here. Now, I am not saying that is a bad thing, but when you lose Prust, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Fedentenko, et., the team is not going to have the same exact personality that it had.

Personally, I think this may be the perfect example of a team having to take a step back before it takes two steps forward. This is a different unit, and they are going to have to develop their own chemistry, and hopefully they find it quick enough to make the playoffs and be playing well at the right time. But, and I have said this many times, they need to find some depth upfront. They are real thin up there, and are playing some guys that don't bring much. A couple of key injuries can really put this team behind the eight ball.

One last note, and its just a small disagreement -- I think Del Zotto has played well, where I think Staal has been really uneven.

- Pete V

This is so true. And they haven't even had a full camp to begin to work through the chemistry or the pure knowing who is going to be where in what situation things that teams go through after any change in personnel.

The one thing that is escalating my anxiety or insanity is that with the cap going down next year and the key RFA's needed to be signed plus the threat of another buy out to most likely Gabby, the window of opportunity went from a run to a sprint, our window is as wide open as it's going to be.

If they don't take advantage of what they have on this roster now it's going to be much harder to to put it all together again next season.

it's tough to say about McDonagh.

Unless he starts getting some points, he really shouldn't get much more than MDZ did, although we all know he is going to be an all-world defenseman.

Girardi is going to be tough, no doubt as a UFA on the open market he'd get 5 million+ a year from a team without batting an eye

Gabby ain't getting bought out, no way, no how! Maybe if Kreider was a sure fire scoring option that would be a remote possibility, but who are the sure fire goal scorers goals next year if Gaborik is bought out? Nash, Callahan, and .....?

Don't know, that's this season is as a must as it gets, they've turned the organization around but with the new CBA in place they have to have to win now.

Gabby wont get bought out because they wont need to. They will clear the cap re-signing players.
