matt gilroy now the only extra skater, that's a scary thought.

Maybe Sean Avery can put his Handbag designing endeavors on hold for a year. Or hell, maybe we should offer sheet P.K. Subbon?

Rangers having problems on faceoffs again this year, thoughts on the rangers reaching out to Dominic Moore?

As much impact as he had at the end of last season, he really is unseasoned. And gaining some experience in the AHL isn't necessarily a bad thing, is it? I know there's a little panic about closing windows (although I do not sense it is widespread), but rushing the guy can mean you'll wait forever for what he might have been.

I thought faceoffs were ok last night until that horrid sequence at the end of the game where the Flyers kept icing it. That was so frustrating.

I am all for not rushing guys, Bo, but there is just a confluence of bad things going on here. The Rangers were depending on Kreider to be a contributor this year, perhaps even in the Top 6, and the fact that he has fallen flat a little makes creates some pretty significant depth issues (when coupled with some other things). He should definetely go back to Hartford if need be, but it is a disappointment.

if you go his link to his most recent blog post he wrote that Kreider is going to get another shot after watching...I think that was a misprint too...

AGrossRecord Sorry, obviously meant Newbury re-assigned to #CTWhale, not Kreider. Kreider still with #NYR. Sorry for the heart attack.

It is tough to tell with a situation like he's had. Maybe the last thing that he wants to do is play hockey. Or, maybe it would be good for him. I imagine that different people would react very differently.

Andrew Gross in his post has referred to a series of comments made by Torts, not being comfortable with rolling 4, no help from CT and that he asked the Whale give me the best they have and they gave the Rangers Newberry...oye!...that means Glen needs to get to work...

It is amazing how life can kick you in the *ss sometime -- a little over 8 months ago Chris Kreider won a National Championship and then immediately took the NHL by storm by being one of the Rangers best forwards in their playoff run. Now, after only three games for the Rangers, and after only being on a 30 point pace for the Whale this season, the luster has come off a little bit. Could be good for him at the end of the day, if he doesn't lose all of his confidence.

If that isn't the coach screaming for help, I don't know what is.

to be honest with you, I feel kind of suspect about what is going on down with the Whale this season. What kind of coaching is going on there? Because Kreider went from at times being the best player on the ice in spurts during the NHL playoffs last year, to having a horrible season points wise with the Whale, to not looking nearly like he did now in the NHL.

They just traded their captain in Kolarik. What is happenin?

Sean Couturier would likely be the piece going back to Montreal for Subban. Btw 2 other teams have contacted MTL about Subban.

Hearing Flyers have contacted Montreal about PK Subban. Question is would MTL be willing to move him and for what package coming back?

Couturier for Subban seems like a pretty good straight up deal, doesn't it? But, I am sure the Flyers really, really want to keep Couturier. Amazing how good of a two way forward he is for such a young player.

if that happened, they would have traded Van Reimsdyk and Couturier for Luke Schenn and Pk Subban.

it's interesting

The Flyers with the defensemen are like the Islanders with goalies

You guys better hope your RFA's don't play hardball next year. Stepan,McDonaugh and Hagelin have to resigned with 11 mill in cap space.

I have Stepan 3.5, McDonaugh 3.25 and Hagelin at 2.0. Should get you through, then J.T Miller making your team next year playing with Boyle and Kreider/Hagelin on the 3rd line

Why not? He's your clear cut 2nd line centre with noone really challenging him, i'd say the negotiating leverage is his. Maybe knock it down to 3 if you give him 4-5 years. But I'm thinking a 2 year, 7 mill.

Glen Sather does not give that kind of money to 22 year old RFA's who have no leverage.

If Stepan wants 3 million a year, he'll have to hold out.

I suspect he'll get what MDZ got, 2 years, 2.55 million.
