I am a Mets plan holder and fan, Jets season ticket holder and fan, Knicks fan and Rangers fan. Called my dad one day to say I was suing him for child abuse for making me suffer so much, needless to say, my mom wasn't happen when I said that but he got a laugh out of it. - airjan23
My teams exactly Jan, although I stopped watching base a ball 10 years ago & dont like basketball. Wife said I had to give up one of the teams when we got serious & the Mets were the easiest.
you know what, I think Pyatt is pretty good, thank goodness we have him. He is the perfect 3rd liner. - jimbro83
The way I see it is Pyatt is a big guy that can play the third line and will replace Prust's contributions offensively and on the forecheck; perhaps even score more goals. Then we sign Asham to be a 4th line plug and to fight the middleweights that Prust took on (of course Prust fought anyone so....). In essence you replace Prust with two guys, perhaps a marginal gain overall, for the same money but two fewer seasons of commitment. I have no problem with that.

Tonight is just the type of game we signed Asham to play & he's hurt.
Just like Brashear 3 years ago, MIA in the game we needed him the most when Carcillo thugged up Gaborik.
Wasn't exactly a perfect game but a win's a win. Even though GNR was pretty dominant I think they should be split up and only put them out when we're down a goal late in the 3rd. Put Nash with Step and Cally because Nash is so good at creating offense on his own maybe he'll get them going. And put Hagelin with Gabby and Richards because that worked before and maybe it'll get Hagelin going. If Torts does have Krider play out of his slump, would you put him as the 13th forward first and only play him in certain situations like 5-5 in the neutral and offensive zone, then slowly move him up the lines and give him more ice time? Or just put him in the AHL. Another option could be what Torts did with DZ a couple of years ago, scratch him and let him take notes.

I never, ever liked the Brashear sigining. I wasn't too keen on the Asham deal either but for 2 years it isn't that bad. He can play a 4th line role but if he isn't going to be healthy then there is no use. Hope he recovers quickly.

Atleast Asham has some sort of hockey sense, Brashear had only 1 purpose. Just like Boogaard.

I was really upset, first he knocks out a class guy in Betts with a cheap shot & then we turn around & sign him a few months later.
He played in maybe 10 games with the Rangers, totally useless & washed up at that point.

At least Boogaard was a good guy. I can't remember anyone celebrating Brashear when he played like 8 minutes total for us that one season. Ranger teammates liked Boogaard.
That was a helluva stick-chuck from Brad Stuart after the goal. Good thing that thing stayed on the ice as opposed to flying into the stands. That could have hurt someone.

Nothing against Boogeyman, he was certainly a crowd pleaser although he almost never fought because no one was dumb enough to scrap with him.
With the Flyers starting Tostitos and Shelly tonight, it is probably smart to scratch Kreider for Bickel. Give him a game off to clear his head and watch from above. I think he gets one more chance Saturday to prove he belongs. If he gets sent down, o well. Let him work on getting his confidence back. Right now he isn't helping the team. Don't forget Del Zotto spent most of his second season with the Whale as well.

I'm with you TPC. We don't want Kreider to be our Neiderreiter. Would much rather the Rangers explain to him what he needs to work on and how he can get better.
