So what year does Stepan decide to become a man cause he till looks like a little boy out there, his growth looks stunted and we look horrible
- cranford93

He might be on his way Alex, you can't say he looks improved, same step into zone lean and telegraph your weak wrister.

The good news about that period is we were good without the puck (defensive structure, blocking shots). Which is good cuz we never had the puck.

Also Hank was solid, nothing spectacular but all saves that we expect him to make. Best period this season.

Also 13-8 on faceoffs

I mean that he receives unnecessary and premature hate because expectations for a 22 year old 3rd year player are unfairly high.

Yep. 22 years old with 38 career coals in two seasons and closing in on 100 points. It seems like he should be older but he really is just 22. Already has 3 points this year too.

I actually did not know that but thanks for bringing it up, the haters should see that stat.... The kid is solid but he isnt a top line center yet. He will be, though, IMO. We saw so much skill and potential when he centered Gabby and Arty last season.

I think he'll be a good #2, maybe a decent 1. His three points are a little..... quiet I guess. They are all assists and I can't recall one where I said, wow, what a play by Step!!!!

And it's not like he's the only one who's in a stump, I don't think he can carry the team on his back.

To be fair though, everyone other than Nash and Gaborik seem off and slow so far.

Hey, you could so that to any player. His steal led to the late Nash goal vs Pitt, he kind of just pushed it ahead to Nash but it was ok. Also, a good shot that was put in by Pyatt last night.

He is a center, not expected to score a ton of goals, more of a Richards type, find passes to make. He will be fine, figure his sweet spot will be when he feeds Cally and Pyatt in front or in the slot

Why the hell is the Rangers intermission taking so long?

I really think that its irrational to jump on the guy 3 games into a (frank)ed up season like this, especially after a very strong season last year.

I think people just need someone to bash now that Dubi is gone.

New lockout rules, 18 minute intermission instead of 17. I can feel its longer than last year without even clocking it.

If I was going to bash on someone, I think Hagelin and Boyle have been pretty bad so far.

I understand Boyle, how can someone his size be so invisible. But Hagelin still hasn't played a full season.

It sucks, before he got that concussion vs Ottawa in the playoffs, he was a man on a mission

Yeah I'm not crazy about it either, but I don't think we can send out Halpern and Newbury and expect to create some offense. I think Torts just wants to get the team used to playing in the O zone, hence him throwing out his top 6 all the time.
