Who cares who has more knowledge about the game... We are all here because we are passionate about the Sabres..
I've played the game my whole life and watched it my whole life and I know hardly anything.. So who cares..

That is a good point. It's not something I try to break down, because, as you said unless you've done it, you don't know what it's like.
I don't understand why Myers didn't actually try to do something when Gerbe got plastered into the boards. Maybe he's a wuss. Maybe he was trying not to draw a pentalty. That's the stuff that I don't understand. I also try not to claim that I do. I do, however, wish that he would have just punched that jerk in the face. - HonkFortheGoose
I know it's a lot more boring but when I'm at a game I hardly ever watch the puck. I'm always watching away from the puck seeing how plays development and you can def. get an understanding on what guys are trying to do and accomplish out there. I'm not too worried about Myers. It won't be long before Ott starts calling guys out hopefully, just can't see Pommer in that role. |

I wonder what he was calling them when he was in a 1 on 5 scrum last night
that was just sad to see |

I watch a lot of this at games even though I've never played. A lot of times I'll notice something starting and the next thing you know, there's a goal. Most of the time though it's for the other team and there are a couple expletives mixed in there. This is part of why I like sitting in the 300s. You can see that stuff developing better from that view point. |

i do have a question for ya, you came into the devils thread after the devils 1st game and said that the devils aren't a very good team coz they only beat them 2-1 and all that, and then you said after devils beat the flyers 3-0 that it was too early
shouldnt your 45yrs of watching teach you that good teams find ways to win games even if they are not playing their best that day and that on opening night the home team (isles) runs off more emotions and the fans
its not how you win, its getting the win that matters
so my question is, you say its too early in a season but also say devils can barely beat a bad team (how can you judge after 1 game though) so why are you being hypocritical? and how is scott doing? is he stopping other teams from being physical and stuff? |

I'm the same way. I never really sat up high until the World Jrs... I got the package for all the HSBC games and was in 322. At 1st I was like damn I should have paid for better seats but after the 1st game I really liked the point of view. I get almost all 300 level seats now |

From me to you..... don't get started with this guy... he heads multimillion dollar building projects... watched hockey for 45 years... swears that Adam Pardy and Mike Weber are our two best D-men... and that the world is still indeed flat. |

it wasn't worth losing the zone faceoff over when that is all it was. |

agreed but maybe the forwards could have come down. It just rubbed me the wrong way ... but the way the game was going I was pretty sour at that point. |
