I understand it and agree with you.

Even when his team mate that just came off of spinal surgery gets cranked into the boards once again in the same manner that led to Baby food having surgery Myers gives the offender a love tap with his stick on his leg.

I mean c'mon already. I've seen whimps but this guy takes the cake.

I mean if you are stanking the ice up with your play at least stick up for team mates when you are the one on the ice at the time and do something positive for Christs sake. Nobody says start throwing punches but at least act angry at what you just seen happen to your team mate. Something more then a mere love tap on the leg . He's a whimp!

The kid is fast becoming a joke! A very expensive joke!

Ok. You, and a few other people, are missing my point.

I DON'T WANT MYERS TO FIGHT. BUT HE NEEDS TO HELP OUT THE TEAMMATE WHO IS GETTING A$$RAPED IN THE CORNER BY FIVE GUYS.

You don't have to be a brawler to stick up for a teammate. Push, shove, facewash, tackle, whatever, but get in there. Its called pack mentality. The Bruins have it. And with the couple new guys we have (Ott, Scott, Foligno) along with the holdovers (Regehr, Kaleta, etc) we should have it, too.

I would expect every single player on this team to adhere to that way of thinking. Get involved. It doesn't mean throwing punches. It means finding you way into the scrum and getting involved. It's called not repeating the trend we saw last year: the gutless Sabres.

And, I'm sorry, but at 6'8", Myers has to be a bit more aggressive. Or, as I said earlier, he might as well be Mike Wilson.

- Powerslave

!.) Mike Wilson could not skate or move the puck like Myers.

2.) the Bruins have guys that don't get involved in the scrums and so do the Sabres as do every team in the NHL.

3.) i have seen myers give plenty of face washing. I am guessing he didn't do it because of his coach last night. If he skates down to the scrum the face-off comes back out of Carolina's zone.

That's the problem.

"Myers sucks, he will never be an average defensman."
"lets trade him for Getzlaf, ANA will accept our garbage of a player"

- sbroads24

Not sure if this is sarcasm, my detector must be broken. But the same Getzlaf who’s stats have been declining 4 years in a row. No thanks.

I don't but that was bizarre. Never seen anything like it. I woulda hit him with a "stray puck' later in the game.

All this Myers hate because he did the smart thing. His team was going on the PP. He kept the faceoff in the Carolina zone. Address later in the game with John Scott. That why he is on the team. It is not a crime to do the intelligent thing.

If the kid can even get back to where he was as a rookie, and stay there, that's awesome. But he has gotten worse every year.
- Powerslave

I forget who said it earlier.. but I think it has to do with how much the Sabres coaching staff is trying to change his game... When Myers was a rookie they put him with that strong stay at home guy in Tallinder so that Myers could skate and be more offensive....

I think with all of the coaches trying to now make him into that stalwart.. it just isn't his game to be both... I think we just need to find him that rock stay at home d-man and let Myers go back to playing how he was.

I don't expect him to win multiple Norris and go down as one of the best.. I don't even expect him to be one of the best Sabres of all time.. but you can't take a guy and change what made him an NHL quality guy and 1st round pick.

That is like taking Tom Brady or Peyton Manning and saying I want you to play more like RG3 or Cam Newton.. run around a lot..

The ruff should have gotten 4 minutes for roughing. Poor little Gerbe gets jacked up by everyone. Even the old dude on the ice.

1.)Myers moves the puck well? Since when? He skates well ? You mean him falling all over the place and turning to go back in the dzone and trip on himself? That good skating?

2.) excuse!

yeah I mean he is the ref not the linesman. And the way he grabbed him was just so weird. I was trying to explain it but it was so out of whack I just need to show him. Honestly if I were a player I would expect to have the union file a grievance.

gotta learn to ignore him.. he is better then any of we are in hockey knowledge because he is a million dollar building manager... yadda yadda..

We need to put Ennis down on the 3rd line or trade him... Grigo is more important to the prosperity and longevity of this team than Ennis is...

1) Myers can skate 100 MPH all he wants. It's time to stop coughing up the puck and grow a bit of a spine.

2) I watch as many Bruins games as I can, and you're wrong. Even guys like Bergeron or Seguin at least look for a dance partner in a scrum.

3) There are times when a player has to do what his coach may not want him to do, and that was an instance last night. This team is trying to establish a "tougher-to-play-against" mentality and reputation, and last night reeked of last season.

He hasn't really though, the best he has ever played was 2010-2011 in the playoffs. He had a poor year last year, still ended up on the plus side of +/-.

When I see Myers play I think his skating is the strongest part of his game. He has a great shot. He uses his reach well most of the time and plays his best when he is joining the rush. I think he is being coached to try and do things he is not comfortable with, and that brings his whole game down.

my point is that he's pretty darn young AND players like chara and pronger didn't take until they were about 27 to be elite defensemen, there were lots of growing pains.
