Not a routine save at all. There's a reason why guys like Neal score as many goals as they do. Do you know how fast that shot get's on a goalie. No way you can blame Brzgalov for that.
- MJL

He wasn't screened. He should have had it. Feel free to disagree.

Here's a definition of point blank range, btw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point-blank_range

Exactly. I put the onus on him more for the Clarkson goal than the Neal goal.. and I dont think that goal was even his fault.

I don't like it when people say 'it is not Bryz's fault' when clearly he has been awful. But yesterday, he played a great game
- strongsupporter

You can blame 1 maybe 2 goals on Bryz this season. All the others were unstoppable.

Loved the heart last night. Hope that 60 min effort sticks for the season as outhustle / outwork opponents translates as most effective "system" to winning in my book.

If we send Laughton back how do these combos look?

Simmonds - G - Voracek
Knuble - Schenn - Briere
Rusty - Talbot - Read
Sestito / Shelley - Wellwood - McGinn

While I agree that was a great shot from a dangerous player, I'm sure the debate on the definition of "point blank range" will rage on all day.

Hexy's empty net goal from point blank range was awesome!

Our definitions of "point blank range" differ perhaps.

And we're off!!!

Bryz should have had that shot.

Could have? Sure, it wasn't a completely unstoppable shot but I definitely don't put that in the category of one he "should have" had.

Sometimes the shooter legitimately and cleanly beats the goalie.

I suggest you watch it again.. a clean faceoff win, right to neal who fires it between Grossmann and Voracek. Absolutely a screen.

I think blaming him for 1 is a stretch, but two is just unrealistic.

You need Coots in there.

As far as I'm concerned Rusty is the odd man out.

He could have made the stop, but it wouldn't have been a routine stop by any stretch. It's a tough shot from a 40 goal scorer right off a draw.

I actually blame him more for the Clarkson goal the other night, where he was fishing for his stick and the puck went in off Fedotenko. Guys like Neal are going to score off shots like that one.

Correction:

Simmonds - G - Voracek
Knuble - Schenn - Briere
Talbot- Coots - Read
Rusty - Wellwood - Sestito

Shelly / McGinn as ready 5 fighters.

I would focus more on the game of Hockey and what's point blank range for a sniper of Neal's caliber, rather then the invoilving talk of gun ballistics.

Fedetenko is ahead of Wellwood, McGinn, Sestito, Shelley, and Rinaldo on the depth chart. I don't see him being the odd man out.
