If you trade Read and Schenn that 1st round pick may be a top 3 (lottery notwithstanding). I'm really concerned about the flyers ability to score now let alone minus two more top 9 forwards. - TheGreat28
Yeah, you are right. But Da Man told you this before the season.
Follow greatness. And greatness will follow you. |

For weber I'd be ok - Flyersgod
And Weber can't be moved until next season. |

Throw in at least 1 first coming to the Flyers with that and we'll talk. |

I doubt they offered that much and thought they could force their hand. - JoeRussomanno
Many seem to think thats what Nashville was asking for Weber and Homer turned it down.

Couts = PK plus a first?
Man I would have to strongly consider that deal.
As much as I like Couts, that is some value coming back. |

For me to move Couturier they have to knock me off my chair even if it includes PK, if not don't even pick up the phone to call. |

If Nashville offered weber straight up for couturier he'd be a flyer. |

Your right, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Our D is old and slow and we have no QB for the PP that can actually SHOOT the
puck.
You think Kimmo is worth a 6.3333M cap hit... The answer is obviously no.
Would much rather have Subban at 6.333M per than Kimmo. Subban still hasn't
peaked and more importantly, MTL wouldn't likely match the offer sheet since the
reported offer (Dreger TSN) for Subban was 5M for 2 years by MTL. - Chris48
My point exactly, Subban is easily worth the draft picks, you could always end up with a Thomas HIckey at #4, yikes |

I'm with you OB.
Couts is so valuable to them.
Look at the top lines in their division.
He can shut down Malkin and Neal, Nash/Gaborik.
He is worth a ton to the Flyers. |

Timonen is a free agent after this Season. And Timonen was absolutely worth his contract over the course of his career here. Subban is not worth that right now, and may not be worth it in the future. He may very well continue to develop and become that kind of player. And I don't see it as being desperate times. The Flyers can be patient here. They have a young team. Make the right move. Holmgren has proven he can acquire top defenseman. Just because Montreal wouldn't match, doesn't mean you overpay for the player, and risk that kind of contract with him.

If it were up to me, then no Couts for PK.
Who knows what will happen, but Couts is very valuable guy in that he shuts down the top lines, and there are some very great #1 lines in the Flyers division. |

He did it in the play offs against Malkin, who is a damn beast.
Pretty convincing to me.
He is only going to get physically stronger.
