I don't get all this Laughton banishment mongering personally. Has been impressive thus far. Wouldn't be the first player to benefit from NHL experience at his age. - JoeRussomanno
Well for me it's the further is development which for him means working in his offensive game. At this point he won't get the minutes or time on those lines to do it.
I'm not 100% against especially if it can help this team down the road, since well they aren't likely a cup winning team right now. |

John Boruk @JohnBorukCSN
Briere can't take faceoffs so he'll play LW along side Couturier. - ob18
Along side Couts?
With Schenn makes more sense, but whatever its Boruk. |

Why don't you think he will get the time? I tend to agree with you, but as long as he is getting 10+ minutes a night I am fairly satisfied. What better way to work on your offensive game to translate into the NHL than play in the NHL? |

just worried about burning a year off his ELC at such a young age...
I'm not sure how I feel about it.. but as long as he doesn't become a superstar it shouldn't be an issue resigning him in 2 years - Flyersgod
I doubt it's an issue resigning him either way. The Flyers are very adept at retaining players they want. |

Well when Briere moves back to center what line do you put Laughton on? I am satisfied with his defensive play but that was never a question. |

That's on top of burning an ELC year on a short season & maybe creating more cap problems when it ends in 3 years. |

Especially with Hartnell out, B Schenn will likely play on the Wing. |

I see the short Season as being a positive for keeping him. A lot less chance of getting burned out then with an 82 game Season.

They'll just do what they always do, overpay to keep him or trade him for assets of questionable worth to keep you mods at hockeybuzz busy. |

I am trying to find out Laughton's faceoff percentage while in Oshawa but that OHL stat won't be an easy find. |

Yeah I shouldn't expect for the Flyers to think long term when they are permanently stuck in a short term mindset |

Off his waist area.

For where this team lies in terms of being able to compete for a cup I want them to do one thing.
Make sure they get the best player in the deal, or the guy with the highest potential. Lower tier/secondary guys are good and all, but yeah... |
