Timonen is a free agent in July, no need to buy him out...he's the cream of the UFA crop this summer...very slim pickings on D in free agency - Jsaquella
Yeah i saw that I bet he retires just based off the way he talks about his body. Well forward wise then should be a good crop lets say Flyers bought out Briere, LTIR'd Pronger next season thats about 18 mil in cap space. Not too shabby |

That's a pretty tall order, with the way we lose players. |

Flyers will have about 7.3M in Cap space next Season as of now. And can also use LTIR for Pronger to get more. Who knows if they use the buyout. |

Oh, great. For the last eight days, it's been systems talk. Now we're going to debate whether vejim is going to the game or not, despite his claim to the positive. |

Does he have his system in place for going to the game? The route or system of transportation he is going to use to get there? When will he decide to purchase a beverage or food? And what kind of each will he choose. You need a game plan when going to a game. Can't just show up and wing it.

Matt Read and Jake Voracek are the only players with value that I would move to upgrade anywhere. I would also consider any of our draft picks that isn't a first and Scott Laughton. I know it sounds crazy to give up on Laughton so soon but we are so strong at center. I am most interested in getting a scoring winger or upgrading at D. Plus I would look to this summer to freeing up reasonable cap space. Losing Shelley, Lilja, Knuble, Fedetanko, Foster, Timonen and two buyouts to be named later should help a great deal. I think we need an untouchable core.
The flyers should target who they want right now. - SuperSchennBros
Trading a player doesn't mean you gave up on him. Especially in a cap world. |

I mean there are times yea when that happens, but I doubt the flyers gave up on mark recchi when they traded him or rod brind'amour. |

Correct. They gave up on Recchi when he wanted more money for having been the Flyers' top scorer in 2003-04. |

Assume the Flyers will not get a top 5 pick. These d-men are ranked high by central scouting. I wouldn't trade up for a d-man.
Rasmus Ristolainen - D - TPS (SML) - 6-3, 207 - PR: 7
Ryan Pulock - D - Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) - 6-0, 209 - PR: 11
Darnell Nurse - D - Soo Greyhounds (OHL) - 6-3, 185 - PR: 25
Nikita Zadorov - D - London Knights (OHL) - 6-5, 229 - PR: 17 - fnmjoe13

Is he going to be able to execute the system? Or will other systems prevent him fom executing his? |
