Wellwood sent back to the AHL.
I guess I'm a bit surprised, his speed seemed to help. - Marc D
That is weird. What's the 4th line going to be? |

They need to use Shelley's speed and Sestito's great hands. |

Yeah i saw that I bet he retires just based off the way he talks about his body. Well forward wise then should be a good crop lets say Flyers bought out Briere, LTIR'd Pronger next season thats about 18 mil in cap space. Not too shabby - flyerfan28
I wouldn't even consider buying out Briere. He's money in the playoffs and after this season, he only has two seasons left. Don't buyout someone just to do it. If Briere fails to win a cup here he might bring in a pretty good return at the 2015 trade deadline should he agree to go to a contender. |

I think Wellwood is a good 4th line player in the NHL. Much better than some that will be dressing tonight. |

Pretty funny. Tough to keep depth in the future due to salary cap. Which is why I am big on Zac |

Panotch just tweeted that Wellwood was sent down to create space for Briere who is now a game time decision. |

The lines I remember were Carter with Lupul and Hartnell
Richards played Knuble and Gagne for the most part.
I don't remember Knoobs with Danny, but maybe? |

Come on Homer, offer sheet PK Subban. Habs offering 2.5 a year which is a joke for a dman his calibre and oozing with potential. He could be your dman stud playing 25 plus every game in every situation. An offer of even 4 mill a year for 5 years would probably land him and at the very least force a trade. We need him! |

fd17, don't you think Montreal would match 4M a year?
They'd likely match 5+ a year. |

Yeah they picked him up off the street, coulda been anyone. Seriously we are in big trouble. If we don't make an offer for Subban or acquire him somehow I will be pizzed. We are going to burn Kimmo out by the end of February if he last that long. We need a guy who can play big minutes and also a big shot on the pp. The D is going to make Bryz lost in the bushes again. |

The Habs are in an interesting financial position for next year. Sixteen players under contract for $53.2 million. You can see why they are really not moving from there offer with Subban. I'm not really sure how it turns out. |

They would be foolish not to match but there is no way they would keep him. He would be traded before he ever played there. The guy is easily worth 5 mil per year and down the road he would be a bargain at 5 mil. He is getting a lot of bad negative press from people who do not know him. He spent the entire lock out doing charity work, he is doing charity work today as a matter of fact. Yes he likes himself but he has a lot to like. I watched him in Hamilton in the AHL and his potential is off the charts and he is already a #1 or #2 dman on most teams. |

I remember him in the world juniors.
Tons of talent but risky!
I'd be happy to see him on the Flyers, especially if it doesn't cost them Couts. |

So you're saying if you had the choice in getting FA either Perry or Getzlaf but you need to shed salary you woulndt buy out Briere? I agree dont buy him out for the sake of doing but if you can aquire top YOUNG talent then I would bet Flyers would do it. Who knows maybe they could get Briere back on a smaller contract. |
