Again Stamkos was the #1 pick, it's completely different. He's is not a dominant player right now, I understand that, but he is also not a liability. His numbers prove that, he needs to step it up but people are over reacting about it

You need to stop taking this so personal, for what Myers brings to the table he plays like a midget. He brings no intensity or bang to his game at all. you watch Subban and Doughty and they bring it. Myers is a skinny rail who play scarred and nervous.

You know what I think the real problem is, the fact that everyone holds him to what I'm going to call the "Chara Standard." He gets compared to him all the time because of how tall he is, but his game is completely different. He may be tall, but he's not going to throw himself around out there like Chara does. His frame could never support that over a full season.

Everytime he's tried to put on weight, he ends up looking slow and out of sorts. Would I like for him to be a more physical presence on the ice? Sure. Is it really his style of game? No. Those are the realities we all need to come to terms with, IMO.

Again, the contract really shouldn't have anything to do with how he actually plays or what you expect out of him. A lot of the contracts these younger guys are signing are based on potential and what the team thinks they might be worth down the road.

Roy's contract was the same way when he signed it almost 6 years ago. People hated it. Thought they were paying him too much. In all reality, that contract ended up being a steal because of how contracts inflated and because he finally ended up meeting the potential that was expected out of him.
