And I agree 100% with you but do you see where Im going with this? This town and media picks one person and crushes them based on their contract, I am very critical of Vanek but I didn't start until he was 26 years old and I realized he needs to be more consistent. But as you know there were many people here who wanted Stastny who is in a very similar situation to Myers, maybe not the same degree but he was demoted off the 1st line last year and he was paid similarly to Myers at a very young age after a huge season, since then he has "regressed" as well but people were fine with it and wanted him

This city has craved a championship team for so long now. I am 42 now and all I have under my belt as a fan is the jays back to back WS and cuse winning the NCAA.

I saw the Bills at a young age compete under Knox, then suck for a while. Thankfully when I was old enough to drive to the Ralph they were great but never won it all. Since I moved to Florida in 95, they have sucked.

Sabres, as a kid was a good team that fell short of expectations. Followed by years of sucking, then hope under Ruff, and now showing signs of sucking again.

We as fans were told by the GM, when Briere and Drury left, that it may take up to 5 years for this team to compete again at that level.

This is year 6 and I am ready for spring training after 4 games.

We have the same GM and coach. Won zero playoff series since that day.
The faces to get us back to the Eastern semis and finals, let alone the stanley finals, are suppose to be Miller, Vanek, Pommer, Myers and Staff, for the last 3 years.
Aside from Pommer, who I have never dogged, I feel in many ways this team has gotten slower, less play makers to produce scoring, play a boring style of hockey that leans on this goalie way too much to win 2-1 games and most of all it is not fun to watch sabres hockey like it was 6 years ago.
Dom is not our goalie. We do not have a d core that will sacrifice and leave it all on the ice. We do not have 4 lines that give their best effort night in and out.

I enjoyed the post Hasek teams that sucked, hung Biron out to dry and had no chance to even make the playoffs so much more then this team. At least they left it all on the ice.

Not even one week ago, we were praising the Sabres for playing with toughness, and showing they weren't going to be a team to be messed with. What you're saying may be turn out to be correct, but before the season started, I had made a conscious decision to completely disregard what happened in the first week or so of this season. When you only have one week of camp and go right into the regular season, you are going to see quite a bit of anomalies, probably more so than the norm. The Rangers aren't playing well. Toronto has played well more often than not. Philadelphia just won its first game, and even Carolina struggled before facing Buffalo. With only a week of playing together (and no, I don't count pick up games "supervised" by Andrew Peters), you are going to see a lot of things that aren't indicators of what the team truly is, good and bad.

had to, he coulda been plucked off the AHL roster due to his games played and that he isnt on his entry level contract.

Technically they had to bring him up for camp because he has to go through waivers before he can play in the AHL now the the NHL is up and runnin again. But I do agree that he is wasting a roster spot right now.

This! I have been a centre I've subscriber since 07 (the good old days) and I have to tell you, honestly, that this is a boring team to watch. Living in a leafs nation city, two hours from Buffalo, i am subject to all-Leafs, all the time coverage on regular tv.
