Extending the gm 2 games into the season when he hasn't proven he can put a good team together yet with limitless resources. Lindy Ruffs ice time decisions and such.
- Buffalo--Sabres

agree darcy shouldnt have been extended....but he has had what, 2 years with "limitless" resources which really isnt limitless, there is a salary cap.

But if with Terry opening up his wallet doesnt mean you can make people come here.

They made the highest offer to Parise, Suter and Doan.....doesnt mean you can get them.

If Ruff was so worried about him, he should have just sat him in the press box. I don't think that counts as one of his games, though I could be wrong. Either way, it would have had the same result anyway.

Pommer certainly had a bad game on Thursday. I didn't have a problem with him at all last night.

Vanek's stupid penalty with 2 minutes left in the game last night though really made me angry. He needs to not do stuff like that.

he also had 2 goals Thursday......

Can we all agree that if this season continues to be hot and cold that it makes the most sense to give Grigo more TOI?

Oh, I know. And I'm not complaining about him. But defensively, that may be the worst game I've ever seen him play.

anyone else been very dissapointed in Foligno and that line as a whole???

they've been very, very underwhelming, IMO.....but I kind of had a feeling that they wouldn't be hot this year....

because he is a one trick pony....

The only reason he is up here so so somebody else can claim him, they dont want to lose him for nothing.

He's not a very good skater, poor in his own zone.

I've only seen a few Amerks games and he scored in all of them. Put him in place of Scott and at the point on the pp. He has a more accurate one-timer than anyone else on the team.

Myers the direct result of a 3-0 going back the other way. Thank God for Miller.

The empty net goal by a kid like Skinner half Myers size , that outworked and out muscled Myers all the way down the boards and to the net.

That empty netter pretty much sums up Myers.

Myers trading stock is dropping faster with each game he plays.

Felt bad for Grigorenko. When I seen Grigorenko on a line with John Scott I said to myself 'yep I have seen this movie before' Lindy setting the kid up for failure. Really Lindy?

I wont even get started on Ennis.

Homer, the ridiculous reason given for the lack of ice time last night was that Ruff didn't like the matchup. I would have understood that the night before when Staal had a hat trick. I don't get sitting the kid when there weren't a lot of goals on the scoreboard.

We don't know what we have, good or bad, because the kid doesn't ever play.

- PassionBucket16

I heard his reason. Staal had a hat trick the night before, thus the change the next night. I get that thinking.

I could argue the opposite. In a tight game where there arent a lot of goals, or any until the third I understand sitting the rookie, he is more likely to make a mistake that ends up in our net than Hecht is.

We, meaning us, may not know what we have good or bad like you suggest, but I think they do know what they have, and thats player who isnt ready yet. They break down his every shift more indepth than we can, they see him eevryday in practice, we dont.....

I'm pretty sure he was extended before the season started. That press conference took place on the Saturday the season started. Our first game was the next day.
- HonkFortheGoose

Either way. Top tier talent moves all over this league and we get John Scott and Robyn I peaked nine year ago Regehr.

ennis and stafford had a couple of great chances and foligno has been playing physical but yes they need to get on the score sheet as a line.

This makes sense. But, you can spin the thinking differently to coaching to not lose. I'm sick of this theory. It hasn't gotten us anywhere. It's Ruff's mantra. And he continues to get out coached time after time.

My reply to that is that Ehrhoff doesn't generally play the entire 2 minute PP. Wouldn't it make sense to have a guy out there that can do that on the 2nd unit as well?

do you think it would be smart for lindy to give grigorenko a 2nd line role sunday for possibly his last game up this season just to see exactly what he can do?

Yes. He was. It's what he always does. The entire team had that tight "don't make a mistake" look to them. That's something they get from their coach.

And my response also is if there's someone with a better shot, use him. If they're willing to pay Leino or Pardy to play in Rochester, what difference does it make.

In general, you need 2 guys anyway. There are 2 units, if you've got 2 guys that have that skill set, why not use both of them?

I've seen a bunch of Rochester games myself, and I didn't think Brennan was bad defensively. I'd be open for kicking the tires on him for a game. I just hate how our coaching staff seems to make an opinion of a guy and never change that opinion even if the player has turned the corner or made changes to their game. It's like once they do something that pisses them off, they will not ever forgive or look the other way. It's irritating.

Vanek leads the NHL in points, Pommer is one behind. They can make mistakes because they are producing.

Grigs is making mistakes, which is understandable, but he has to contribute offensively too.....he isn't. He has as many points as me and you.

So we're sitting Staff, Ennis and Foligno too then?

Staff and Ennis have a point this year.

Why do people keep saying they don't????
