So we're sitting Staff, Ennis and Foligno too then?
- Powerslave

Tell me about it.

Common sense has no place here.

But pick on the rook that is getting set up for failure.

Who's picking on the rook? I haven't seen one post that says that he's been bad, or deserved to sit. Everyone has been asking the same questions.

In general, you need 2 guys anyway. There are 2 units, if you've got 2 guys that have that skill set, why not use both of them?

I've seen a bunch of Rochester games myself, and I didn't think Brennan was bad defensively. I'd be open for kicking the tires on him for a game. I just hate how our coaching staff seems to make an opinion of a guy and never change that opinion even if the player has turned the corner or made changes to their game. It's like once they do something that pisses them off, they will not ever forgive or look the other way. It's irritating.

And therein lies one of their bigger downfalls.

Staff and Ennis have a point this year.

Why do people keep saying they don't????

- HonkFortheGoose

It was more sarcasm than anything re: Staff, Ennis and Foligno. I mean they have one whole point more than Grigs? After Vanek and Pominville, Stafford and Ennis are supposed to be the secondary scoring.

It took Steven Stamkos 7 games to record his first assist. Ruff needs to give the kid more of a chance.

Myers the direct result of a 3-0 going back the other way. Thank God for Miller.

The empty net goal by a kid like Skinner half Myers size , that outworked and out muscled Myers all the way down the boards and to the net.

That empty netter pretty much sums up Myers.

Myers trading stock is dropping faster with each game he plays.

Felt bad for Grigorenko. When I seen Grigorenko on a line with John Scott I said to myself 'yep I have seen this movie before' Lindy setting the kid up for failure. Really Lindy?

I wont even get started on Ennis.

Everyone is freaking out about that play. I think he lost it because of leverage and positioning, not effort or strength.

there isn't a better option, so you mine as well let Grigo play and go through his rookie growing pains and just get used to the game...

I agree. But Ruff's not going to sit Staff and Ennis who are having trouble generating offense for another guy who has had trouble generating offense. He's trying to get the two of them going just as much as we would like to see him get Grigs going.

It makes sense. None of them are going to break through sitting on the bench. But it makes sense that Ruff would be trying to get the vets going first.

Grigs is making mistakes, which is understandable, but he has to contribute offensively too.....he isn't. He has as many points as me and you.
- Homer

This. The kid gets put on a line with Scott but you want him to 'contribute offensively' .
Not to mention he only played around 6 minutes last night and its only his 4th National Hockey League game and Lindy is already ruining the kid.

I think the point many are trying to make is: Ruff shouldn't give everyone else a pass here. Grigs has averaged 10 minutes a game, and some on here think he hasn't shown anything or want to send him back to junior because he's scoreless.

Based on average ice time across the board, he's about as good as Staff, Ennis and Foligno right now.

Why are we moving Ennis from the center position even though the way he is playing it doesnt even matter where he plays.

That's why there is never any cohesion with this team.
Tinker with this , tinker with that. Play this guy out of position , that guy out of position etc.

Then we wonder why half of this team constantly looks lost out on the ice.

i say for sunday lindy puts him inbetween ennis and stafford for maybe his final game up. grig's needs to earn a spot but for maybe his last game lindy should give him every opportunity to showcase himself.

Regarding Mikhail Grigorenko, Ruff said that its likely that he will sit the Russian rookie, provided Vanek is healthy. The reason is not a discipline issue. Its more of a strategic one so that the Sabres don't burn Grigo's last game of his tryout. Sitting him Sunday would mean that he would be able to stay with the Sabres and get valuable practice time with the team on Monday.

According to Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News, Ruff appears to be regretful that the he wasted a game of Grigo's eligibility in the 3-1 loss to Carolina on Friday night. Grigo skated only two shifts in the final forty minutes. Ruff opted to shorten his bench and to play Hecht-Kaleta-Gerbe against the Eric Staal line. Grigo skayed 6:48 TOI. For that Ruff is kicking himself.

"I like where this kid is going", said Ruff of Grigorenko.

Doesn't exactly sound like a coach who is eager to send the kid back to Patrick Roy and the Quebec Remparts.

Actually, Garth, it sounds like a coach who is still undecided, one way or the other, and wants more time before they have to decide. Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement.

This may shed a little light on some things in terms of Grigorenko. It seems he's not being used much differently than some of the other guys that are his age.

He was good last night. Particularly when he prevented that wide open net situation. If we had any secondary scoring last 2 games no one would be saying anything about Myers.
