Panaccio tweeted that Leighton is in goal tonight - Jsaquella
Oh boy. Have to get him in there sooner or later I suppose. Might have to win a 6-5 type game tonight. |

Yep. Lindback has not looked good. The other night with him and Ben Bishop in for Ottawa there was 13 feet of goalies in the game...they allowed 10 goals together. |

I am as well, maybe they are turning the corner in not rushing a prospect. |

Rinaldo is possible to play against the Rangers. If he wasn out longer, you and I both know Laughton stays |

I guess if Rinaldo is close to playing Wellwood won't be recalled.
I'm guessing Sestito gets into the lineup tonight. He played well against the Rags. |

you guys act like doc brown dropped out of the air in the delorean with a 25 year old Wayne Gretzky and a freshly inked contract to play for the flyers at veteran minimum. |

You think Richards won the fight? It wasn't much of a fight, but Doan clearly won it. - LJF
No, I don't think he won't the fight. I just don't think Doan landed that many sid punches. He won, no contest, but I've seen much worse beatings than that one. |

I have several reasons for my happy dance.
1. If Laughton stays, it burns a year off his cheap ELC
2. If he plays in more than 22 games, it counts as a year of service towards UFA status.*
3. His playing time will be limited with Briere and Rinaldo back in the lineup, plus the addition of Mike Knuble and the emergence of Tye McGinn
4. He's going to get more ice time and play a much larger role in Oshawa than he would here.
5. He wasn't exactly a dominant junior player, like Couturier. When Couturier showed up last year, it was pretty clear he had little left to prove in juniors. Laughton, as well as he played, isn't even the number one center on his Oshawa team.
*I'm double checking this number of games. It may be different with the short season. |

Richards is a King, who really cares if he gets the snot beat out of him at this point. I do agree with your assessment here though. It really was much to do about nothing. Doan landed one solid punch, then landed on Richards. Doan is a much bigger guy, he should handle Richards without a problem.
Two fights I saw in the Laffs/Rags game were much worse. Asham and Rupp were both dismantled by Brown and Orr respectively. |

Exactly, who cares about if he gets pummeled or not. I just happened to see it and thought I'd weigh in. Done clearly won, but just seemed like a quickie to me, nothing crazy. |

I think they made the right decision on the youngster. Does anyone think that apart from his personal development that the Laughton move portends anything on the PK front or another move? |

Laughton didn't look out of place, but nothing screamed "we gotta keep this kid up here" like the couturier situation last year. Send him back now and he will come back even hungrier next year. |

Absolutely. Richards should get kudos for fighting a guy much bigger than him imo. Doan has 3 inches and 35 pounds on him. |
