Bryz was going to play Tues night in NY regardless, so I guess it makes sense to get Leighton in there tonight. Had Bryz played tonight, it would have been 7 games in 11 days. That's pretty taxing. - PLindbergh31
Yep.. It'd be really nice to see Leights play well and for us to get a point. I didn't check but i am assuming T bay didn't play last night.. I can see those little waterbugs like St Louis driving our D bonkers tonight. |

Haven't seen anything. I hope it's Foster, he hasn't been that good, but he's better than Lilja. |

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:
There has been talk that the Avalanche are calling around to see what they could get for center Ryan O’Reilly. The asking is a young forward and a 2nd round pick. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is calling teams looking for help in multiple positions. The Kings are looking for a blueline help. The Florida Panthers could be for sale again. The Panthers may not have the money to sign Stephen Weiss, and may have to trade him at the deadline. Subban talks have go nowhere, and may end with Subban asking for a trade. Subban wants a 5 year, $27.5 million deal, $5.5 million cap hit. If the Canadiens explore trading him, the Flyers, Red Wings and Rangers and Jets may make a push for him.

Yeah. This is a tough game tonight. I would sign on for 1 point right now. I don't have much faith in Leighton. But how many fans have confidence in their teams backup goaltenders? A handful at best. |

I think he may be rusty but from what I saw in highlights from camp, he looks like he's in shape. I think we need to get the first goal tonight and support Leights in order to get an OT point.
edit: I wish we coulda kept Bob. |

Thank you Bill. I have to brush up on the new CBA rules. I must admit I find reading through it very tedious. - PLindbergh31
It's easier to just come to HB and have everyone here tell you the answers. |

I thought I read somewhere that it was expected Ghost would turn pro after the collegiate season and play a few games with the Phantoms like Read a few years ago. I'm really interested to see how he would compete against some good professional competition. |

What would you be comfortable trading for him ..... MTL did lose Pacioretty for 1 month. - Chris48
I'd be willing to trade Brayden Schenn for him.

No reason why Leighton can't play solidly.

At least Foster has a hard, accurate shot. What aspect of Lilja's game is above average? |

Doesn't have to be above average, just has to be better then Foster. I'd have to see how he plays, but it wouldn't surprise me if Lilja played better in his own end. Foster really struggled last night.

Smart management move by sending Laughton back to Oshawa. However, not a very smart Coaching move by having Leighton start tonight. The Lightning could very well be a cup contender this season. Leighton hasn't seen regular NHL action in nearly three years. Leighton should have started yesterday Bryzgalov needs these sort of tests whenever he can get them in a short season. |

Neither one of them is an appealing option is the bottom line. I think everyone would agree Gervais based on his play is a better option than both of them.
I also believe Gustafsson, and MAB would be better options than either if healthy. |

So, Schenn for PK and what do you pay him? |

I would agree. The only reason Foster is here is due to injuries. Lilja was signed to be a part time player. If Foster is going to play, he needs to pick up his overall game, or provide some offense.

I think 2 years for somewhere between 7-8M is fair at this point.
