Probably the prudent move would be to do nothing. Just stay patient. Throwing draft picks at quick fixes is what has got this team into trouble.

Leighton didnt skip the backup job.. he got rushed up do to injuries to both of our goalies.

That year he played very well.. so did Boosh, and so did Emery. They were all helped out by a significantly deep 2 way offense, and a top end defense. Look at Leightons stats since the cup final.

4 NHL games. Actually 3 and one period. In two seasons. And in those 10 periods, he has allowed 13 goals. 13.

I was suprised Wellwood was sent down. IMO he's been one of their best players since the season opener. Would like to see him on the PK instead of Fedotenko.

The question is, has a recorded a shutout yet?

The one playoff game he should have never started? He played well in the first game, and got trounced in his second. How is that getting thrown to the wolves? He didnt come in off the bench and blow it.

My point is.. Homer took a gamble this offseason, and went with Leights as backup. I was skeptical then, Im still skeptical now, but I will let time decide. I think giving a guy who hasnt seen just about any action in NHL hockey since June of 2010 the backup role is risky.

Wellwood, will be back... Depending on Sestito's play. It's sink or swim time for Sestito. Personally, I hope he makes it. I'd be nice to have a big guy on the 4th line.

of course. he's beaten the flyers AND has a shutout. Khudobin posted his first career NHL shutout, making 32 saves in a 4-0 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks on 1.16.11.

Keep in mind that he had a back injury. And that the Flyers got to watch him play for a full Season last year in the AHL.

I agree there isn't a surplus of top forwards. But if the right defenseman comes along, have ot make the deal. Only two I wouldn't trade is Couturier and Giroux.

I'd assume that there is a NMC/NTC. Which means - if they want to move him - destination is his to choose. And, we know that he's partial to Phl... So, if he does move before 2023, it might be Phl.
