Thanks, OB - KINGKENZO
This lockout helped me pay more attention the in the past. Next year I am thinking of getting this to watch more games http://www5.hockeystreams.com/ (offers NHL, AHL, OHL, QMJHL, WHL) for all of $99
I think Kimmo's 50-50. Even if he does return, I try to get him on a one year deal for about half of his current hit, and if he plays well talk to him about an extension mid-season. It would be ideal to slot him as the second pair guy,
and limit his ice time a bit.
The Coyotes are in a weird situation. The ownership is still unsettled, and with the possibility of expansion(Allan Walsh has tweeted it's going to happen) they might not get to move to a great situation anyhow. - Jsaquella
Expansion really? Wow, I didn't know that. The sad part about the location of some of these franchises are in cities which are downright just awful support for all the major sports. Unfortunately, Miami and Phoenix are at the top of the list with Atlanta. So is Jamison now not taking over the Yotes?
Saw it in the theaters back when I was going to the movies a lot (1989 - 1994 or so). Hysterical. - Flyskippy
The thing that sucks for me now is, I can't really go out. I'm supposed to be taking it easy, limited driving, etc. Outside of this weekend, I haven't been more than 20 miles from home, and that's the doctor's office.
I've watched so many episodes of SNL, I've been making Jimmy Carter jokes to my wife.

Is the draft being one day just this year? Does it revert to the two day draft in 2014? - Jsaquella
This year is all 1 day on June 30th. When it's in Philly in 2014 it's back to a 2 day event.
I've already bothered Devils brass about how it's going to work & they've told me that no decisions have been made by the NHL yet on exact details and to keep checking.

I'm sorry, John. That really does suck. I've been praying since I first read about your PCS last week.

Yep, which would be dumb, in the long term. The short term cash grab would be nice for owners of the weaker teams, though.
Then again, it's Walsh, who usually uses twitter for agendas and to fight with Darren Dreger.
I believe Jamison has until Thursday to finalize the sale or at least provide proof that he has the finances to back it. It's like the NHL is willfully ignoring the past issues with guys like McNll, Spanos and Boots Del Biaggio.
Not that Jamison's a crook, like those 3, but that he simply doesn't have strong enough financial situation to buy the team and make it work

I read something about them giving STH's who kept their money in the escrow acct first dibs or even free tickets to "make up" for the lockout.

Every expansion after 1990 has seemed to be more about cash-grabs for current owners than for advancing the sport. And now a lot of those owners are gone and replaced with worse ones as a group. Add in two or more poor-quality ownerships and the next CBA could take even longer to draft/agree to. Ugh.

It's up to the team in Columbus it was just pay 75 cents to print them out in Montreal & Ottawa it was hurry up stand in line outside the stadium & hope you get in.

I give Maloney and Tippett a ton of credit, they have done a great job. If Jamison falls through, will the league finally allow them to leave Glendale. Or is it Bettman's mission to keep a team there?

I know I've told the story before about Phil Esposito and the Lightning, but here goes again.
Espo fronted for a group of Japanese investors. Tampa was considered a dark horse, not only because of location, but because the investors preferred to keep a low profile.
When they went to make their presentation to the BOG, Esposito told them to make sure they had a Cashier's Check for the full expansion fee($50mm back then). Espo led the pitch by saying that the group would be happy to pay the full expansion fee up front and then pulled out the check.

Same with me and college football. I was able to channel my inner draft Geek...college football is much accessible for me

God only knows. They let the Thrashers bail, but that team had almost zero success on the ice, and their ownership group was so busy suing one another it became an ugly situation, even compared to the league running the Coyotes.
NHLNUMBERS is a little simpler. They have the Flyers at -1.805 in cap space at this time. I'd have to see the difference, but I'm guessing they are factoring the bonus' - jstross
NHLnumbers is also frequently wrong. Just a quick glance at it, they have the wrong numbers for Bourdon.
