For sucking, they absolutely mopped the floor with the Flyers last season in the playoffs, and the one meeting this season. I loathe the Devils. - PLindbergh31
i don't care if they're good or bad. or if they beat the flyers or not. they suck. |

the sharks aren't having trouble winning with their roster - 2Real
They are playing out of their minds right now.
Marleau - 9 goals and 13 points in his first 5 games
Thornton - 13 points
Pavelski - 10 points
Coture - 8 points
Boyle - 6 points
Greiss with 1 shut out win
Niemi 4-0 with a .933 sv% and a 2.01 GAA...
Everything is going their way right now... could argue that they have alot more talent then we do all around...
I'm pretty sure we're younger though... so we will get better. |

Well, it's true
That was actually mentioned earlier, that while Iggy was certainly a star, Jones would be the first American star - Jsaquella
Never heard the term before but you are correct. African Canadian just doesnt roll off the tongue.
Does anyone from Canada know if black people are referred to as African Canadians??? |

I hate whatever team the Flyers are playing that minute the most.
I hate the devils because they cost me 500 dollars last year on that series. I really thought the Flyers were going to steamroll them after crushing the Pens.
Bastards... - Flyersgod
i don't get involved with $ that way. i have enough aggravation as it is, with just wanting to win. if i worry about losing a bet, i'd have been institutionalized years ago. |

Its not simple. But its also unfair to the coach to have a set of dmen that aren't great.
Grossman was a solid addition. Timonen is getting older, but still important to this team. Coburn, whom i love, is kinda stuck in a rut. Mezzy can't stay healthy but has been great when he is.
He added Luke Schenn, who has been much better then I expected him to be. I think he will actually grow an offensive side to his game playing here. I dunno if he'll be a #1 or not, and i'm not hopeful that he will be, but he's at least a top 4 at a young age.
Gervais has been better then advertised as well.
I get what you're saying though.. #1 dmen don't grow on trees... and lots of teams are looking for them.
I would have LOVED Visnosky(sp). Dude put up over 60 points at his age last year. Or the year before i can't remember... still impressive. And he isn't really a #1 guy.
I dunno.. i don't have the answers... just a laundry list of complaints...

The unexpected loss of Pronger can't be understated. The team was being built with him as an absolute central cog, and who they expected to still play at a high level for a couple more years at least. He had like 12 points in those 13 games he played last year. I know it isn't an excuse and all that for the current play, but when analyzing why the team has a big hole back there, the reason is obvious. The powers that be did go out and got what they needed, but he's gone now. I don't doubt Holmgren is looking around for something either, but that loss really really hurts |

I found that betting against teams is a lot easier then better for them come playoff time.
I was pretty sure Florida wasn't going to win the cup, so 100 against them every series. Easy 100 with that series.
Always bet against San Jose. If they win a round you triple your losses for the next round. They always blow it.

Oh i agree.. losing Pronger set us back years. Crushed us.
Career ending injuries have probably cost us a cup in the last 14 years. Losing Lindros, Primeu(sp), Hatcher, and Pronger.
I really wanted to see the "twin towers" in Lindros and Primeu. |

The Boss is 80 and wants another Stanley Cup. Maybe he should have forced Clarkie to address the issues the team faced when Lindros was still healthy, or ordered him not to dump defensive depth in 2004. - Jsaquella
I saw Eric Weinrich at the Panera Bread in Moorestown that summer. I told him I was sorry he was traded and I hoped he'd come back for the next season (that never happened, thanks to the 2004-05 lockout). Hated that gutting of the D before the playoffs started. |

I don't see how it could be interpreted as much else, although it may mean a trade before a firing. - Jsaquella
It better. Lavi's been pressured by Homer and Snider both now - when the cap tie-up of Bryz was Snider's doing, limiting Homer's moves. Homer tried to get Weber and Suter to shore up the D. Snider's "move" hurt the team more than anything Homer or Lavi have done.
Let them be - and let them all grow the team together. |

Not sure what the coach can do right now. There's no time to practice, it boils down to the players IMO. - JoeRussomanno
Good point, Joe. I should have added that to my last post.
Lavi had nothing to do with the lack of practice time. He can thank Mr. Snider and his owner buddies and the players and their union for it. |
