Not sure if this is a real question but i'm not falling for it. Must backread first to make sure... - canadianpenfan
I wouldn't advise that. |

I understand the guy's passion for wanting to win now - but as you said that should have been back when he had Lindros and Leclair and the Minnesota line for the PK/checking. He needed Clarke to bolster the D so the goalies would not be left out to dry like laundry on a line in winter. - Flyskippy
If they would of had D, they would of won a cup or two.. oh what might have been |

Never put together that EW and Raul Ibanez are twins until now. - The_Universe
EW can actually reach third base with a throw from left field. RI cannot. |

That's the thing, Clarke got backed unconditionally, and we know it was because Clarke and snider had such a special relationship. Holmgren wasn't Snider's first choice for the job and he seems to be more "involved" now |

I am happy that Snider is hell bent on winning, at least he does not stand pat. I know that he can rush things but his passion for winning is something I like as an owner. - bigmookalookie
I like the passion, but when it's misguided passion can lead to a crazy female dog knowing where you live and leaving dead animals on the steps |

Still - I am thankful CC said, "No." Homer earned the benefit of Mr. Snider keeping his hands off with the way he turned around the team after TSTSNBN. |

The unexpected loss of Pronger can't be understated. The team was being built with him as an absolute central cog, and who they expected to still play at a high level for a couple more years at least. He had like 12 points in those 13 games he played last year. I know it isn't an excuse and all that for the current play, but when analyzing why the team has a big hole back there, the reason is obvious. The powers that be did go out and got what they needed, but he's gone now. I don't doubt Holmgren is looking around for something either, but that loss really really hurts - eayost
Good points. You just don't recover from that overnight. Let's see how Detroit does not having that rock back at the blueline every game. |

So if management heads were to roll, do you start with Homer or Lavi?
I guess I think either getting fired is a mistake, but when people say major moves wil be made, that is what I envision. |

Agreed. It would be interesting to see Holmgren without the pressure from Snider. |

Being that you're a Pens fan, we had to make it look like we were trying to help. Sort of like a slow motion, "Nooooooooooo!" in the movies.

Laviolette would be the one to go. Zero question in my mind about that one. |

i don't see holmger getting the boot if a change were to be made. he's got a lot more equity in his name within the organization than lava, and he's done a fine job. unfortunately key pieces like pronger have gone down due to serious injury. he swung for the fences with a poopload of money and almost got a great replacement. he's gotten a vezina caliber goalie, he's traded away pieces he thought were cancerous and received quality players in return. i honestly don't know that lava is a good coach. maybe he is, maybe he isn't. either way, it's much too early to even think about this stuff right now. they're 2-4, with a young group dealing with some adversity. we'll see. |
