Bingo! I believe that keeping Eric Weinrich might have been the difference that season; it was that close. Bad move by Clarke. |

Ok so we include playoff points now.. fair enough..
But to say those points have equal value then a series that was tight checking is absurd.
Schenn had 6 points vs the Pens. He was also a -3 in the series that they won and out scored the Pens.
He had 3 points vs the devils. These 3 points to me have more meaning then the first 6.
None the less.. its hilarious to see how stats are used on here. Meaningless when it doesn't support your opinion, and gospel if it does.

I knew I'd be seeing that yellow visor before too long.
But seriously, how nice would it have been if Hitchcock could have plugged in Weinrich or even Bundy during those playoffs? - Jsaquella

Per the beats, Rinaldo is expected to play tonight, skating with Fedotenko & Sestito in the morning skate |

So Rinaldo in at the expense of McGinn? Not thrilled with that, rather keep McGinn in there. |

He played a decent game against the Rags. I prefer the younger guys in there though. |

Panaccio just tweeted that they're running 5 lines, and that B. Schenn was skating on two of them.

if they can't correct both of these things: lack of discipline, and a poor pk, it will be the death knell of their season. simple as that. - hammarby31
Absolutely. The PK isn't going to operate at a 65% clip all year, it will improve, how much is the key question. |

Same here. McGinn showed enough promise to take that spot, imo. I realize they probably want more "grit" in for this game, but McGinn is every bit as tough as Rinaldo and will drop them if he needs to. But he's overall smarter on his skates too, while also adding in offensive threat. |

I think that may be that old adage that you don't lose your spot due to an injury. I like what I've seen in McGinn. But Rinaldo can add a spark with his physical play. |

Hell of a place for Lilja to make his season debut. Good lord. I would keep Foster in. |

Wait, what!? Maybe you've never heard of Jarome Iginla. Heck, Grant Fuhr is a HOFer. |

I think the key tonight, is to get Lilja out there as much as possible against the Gaborik/Nash/Richards line. |

I think the better move would be to sit Sestito and put him in, as alluded to above. I do agree Rinaldo adds energy in there, but I also don't think McGinn can sit with how well he's progressing with his game. McGinn can fight lightweights if need be, and Simmonds and Rinaldo will take everything else if need be. So I don't see the need for Sestito in there on this one. (considering he has trouble staying on his skates during a fight anyway) |

If only they had waited, and not signed Foster, they could have added Wade Redden. |

His stint here really impressed me. Can't wait to see him at camp next season. I think he's gonna be more than a John Madden 3rd line center type. Then again with Giroux and couturier it'll be tough for him to play higher here. - JoeRussomanno
I guess I am in a minority, but I still project Coots as a kick a$$ 3rd line center for his career. Not a slight on him either - I just don't see the 2nd line center skill set. As some may have mentioned, may be tougher to fine a good #3 vs. a good #2 center man.
Maybe Schenn will take the #2 job some day. Still think we need to add wingers, but I'll drop this as it is getting repetitive.
Good day all.
Cheers! |

Any reason why McGinn and Rinaldo can't play together? Is Sestito that important?
I think it is ok that we have a rotation of 4th line goons - Sestito, Rinaldo, McGinn, etc. Always injuries. |

Flyers have a number crunch, especially in the bottom 6 of forwards. I would personally sit Sestito also. I'm not a big fan of his, but then again I wasn't a big Rinaldo fan either but he grew on me. There's going to be situations where someone is sitting that might not deserve to.
