That's going to shift daily at least until late February. These games have more importance in a shortened season, but that doesn't make them immune from the early season anomalies that happen every year. In fact, with such little practice time beforehand, it makes them even more prone to them.

We needed a young center for the future.. and it looks like we have gotten it in Hodge. He is playing very good hockey for us this year.. I think that he would be better suited as a 2C but he is the best we got at the moment.

Couver had extra Centers but lacked physical wingers that could protect their players such as the Sedins... They got Kassian who had a sluggish start for them lsat year just like Hodge did for us... but this year.. both players are doing exactly what the teams' wanted them to do.

But we got Sulzer... who is a 4-5 D-man.. and they cut Grags after 20 games.

Sulzer is going to finish the year as the 7th defenseman if he isn't waived. That being said, the trade still seems to be working out for both teams.

it's more eye opening when your second, third and 4th line combine have 3 goals after 5 games and one was a pp goal for Ott

Of course, timing is everything, but there's always someone looking to unload his tickets at the last minute, and hoping simply to get something for them. Something like that isn't that uncommon. You have to be online at the right time though.

I think this was the right move, but Grigorenko's been pretty awful so far. Could have something to do w/ his linemates, but the guy is constantly being driven back into his own zone by weak competition (he plays most protected minutes on team, and plays badly in them). Good reason why points aren't coming as some would hope.

Believe he starts in OZ ~ 57% of time, ends in OZ ~ 35% of time. That's pretty horrific.

On the other hand, Thomas Vanek is a machine..
