Thats why you dont play him on the Penalty Kill... he should get more 5 on 5 minutes than Jochen Hecht.. Just my opinion..
- BuffaloKyle

OH I agree but as great of a coach Lindy is how he used him in Carolina was just well

So that game skews the numbers a little bit. He shouldnt get any more that 5-10 in a given night and thats with a few penalties.

Hopefully now that he knows hes staying for the season it will result in him playing a little more riskier resulting in offensive production.
- Enzomatic

he needs some confidence.. a junk goal could go a long way to help him with that

How many times are we going to see a cross ice pass intercepted on our power play tonight? It is so anticipated by the penatly kill it's borderline embarassing.

Now let the kid play 20 minutes a night with some PP time and live with whatever mistakes/growing pains come with it. Sabres arent in a position to make any kind of run this year, develop players like Grigorenko the best you can until that time comes (making a run).

I can't wait for the fan base to dial up their frustration and hate towards the kid until he scores a PPG consistantly. When he doesn't he will be conisdered a bust or overpaid or whatever negative context that can be dremed up
- RynoBull

My only problem is burning a year on his EL deal thus making him a UFA at 25.

Sabres alway start slow, then sprint to the finish and miss the mark.

I like it. Out of curiosity as a Penguins fan, who did Staal play with the first couple of season lines wise? I dont want to rush the kid but I dont want him playing with Gerbe either.

Staal predominately played with Kennedy and Cooke for the lion's share of his time in Pittsburgh.

His rookie year I believe he was Malkin's winger for some stretches.

That is a whole different can of worms. I think the time has come for both parties to go their separate ways. I think it would be beneficial for both sides.

IMO in the cap era teams can't afford to waste EL years, if they are gonna baby him. Let the kid play and deal with the good and the bad.

I dont agree with that. I know on paper the Sabres arent the Rangers or anything, but its not time to pull the plug on the season. That would be crazy. Thats a loser mentality. This is still anyones game. Plus I dont think throwing the kid in the fire like that would be good for him.
