How are you grading TooToo at this time? I have watched him a few times and he looks like he is working hard for the Wings. |

He's been fine for the Wings on their 4th line thus far, including a couple of monster hits and a fight to kick-off the Columbus game.

The biggest problem is the powerplay. They Wings look they are still just passing it around waiting for Lindstrom to get open and take a shot.

Solution to powerplay, acquire David Rundblad from Phoenix. I would think he would be available due to the likes of Ekman-Larsson, Yandle and a boat load of good dmen. Rundblad is argualbly as good as any offensively but has to work on his D and it is getting better. He is another swede and how fitting for a swede to replace a swede. The pp starts with good pointmen and Rundblad would be the best on a Detroit team. Hope you are reading this Mr. Holland. |

Can you imagine Zetterberg, Datsuyk, Brunner, Kronwell, and Rundblad. Rundblad is like a Datsyuk at the back end and always finds somebody open or unloads a cannon. |

Meh, the point men have been good enough (although they have played forwards there too much for my taste). They just need to stop looking for the perfect wide open shot and shoot the damn puck. |

I like the idea of this deal...Rundblad will never get a change on the PP as long as Yandle and E-L are there. They also have some guys like Stone and Summers waiting to get a legit chance too. We'd have to move some sort of combo involving Tatar, Joakim Anderson, Ryan Sproul, Xavier Oulette, and Riley Sheahan (meaning 2 of these guys)...I think Holland would probably like to keep Nyquist but Phoenix would probably want him in this type of deal. |

I would love to get Rundblad, hope GM Holland makes an inquiry. |

We need a new rink, it was obsolete the day it was built. It feels like an old rink/barn and not a nice event type venue that most teams play in now (that might make more sense when you get there...). The fans there might yell stuff at you, but you won't get beat up if that's what you're wondering lol.
You could check out Hockeytown cafe and Cheli's Chili. Both right by Comerica Park (where the Tiger's play). I don't think there's anything directly near the Joe except a couple bums and the COBO center. |

I love that about the Joe, granted I've only been there twice as I'm an out of town fan. Although it's a bit weird pissing in a trough... |

That caught me eye too, is there some reason for this or Babcock is just switching it up? Lashoff has been our best D behind Kronwall in my eyes. |

Lashoff has impressed me so far with his composure, don't get me wrong, but I strongly disagree.
Lashoff's strength so far seems to be that he's less apt to make a brutal, critical, stupid mistake than some others on the D (Quincey), but the disadvantage is that he adds very little offensively or in transition and does not drive position very well. So fewer dangerous chances against per minute, but he also spends more time chasing the puck and is less dangerous when Detroit actually recovers it.
I do think he has potential to grow into a steady, Brad Stuart style defensive defender and I'm certainly much more confident than I was a few weeks ago that he'll be able to step up and fill in when injuries hit the blue line. But I don't think his time is here yet, and I think if he's still in the lineup when the Red Wings get healthy the team is probably in trouble.
Not that I think Kindl is any better, mind you. |

Yeah he's no all star, but saying he's second best certainly isn't that much of a leap. I've liked Smith, but he makes a lot of mistakes as is expected. Ericsson has been decent, Quincey has been awful, so he's more second best because there's no one else to take the honour in my opinion. |

few things...
= I am really liking the effort of that 4th line.
= Also, Huskins, steady eddy, liking him back there... conservative, but I think it was a low risk, good reward signing, thus far anyways.
= Howard seems to be getting better for us as the games go on.
= PP has a bit of life.
= Lovin' the forecheck. |

Good win tonight. Pk got the job done and PP looked a bit better trying to shoot more instead of just standing around passing the puck. Wings offense looks much better with Datsyuk and Zetterberg on different lines. Datsyuk with Fil and Bert have good chemistry while Z with Franzen and Brunner also works good. Tootoo is doing a good job so far.
Wings still aren't perfect but they are getting better and hopefully they continue to improve. |

I think we're not really that far apart on our takes, but of our currently healthy defenders I would put at least Kronwall, Smith, and Ericsson ahead of Lashoff so far. Lashoff has been steady and I'd absolutely trust him out on the ice if you needed to bottle a lead in the late stages of a game, but in the middle of a wide open game or from behind I just don't think he does as much to help you as those guys. |
