Colborne, Ashton, Biggs, and McKegg aren't exactly something to drool over..

Find a way to get Ryan O'Reilly from the Avalanche with a deal involving kessel. Oh boy would that be splendid

The first two are debateable. The other two havent even been given a chance. And people wonder why this team cant/wont rebuild.

Oh god not this argument again.

He had one season with 55 pts and another two where he didn't crack 30 in either case.

I'd be intrigued if the man coming back was Duschene, but I doubt he will be moved, even if they did give the C to Landeskog

I would think if we can get a top 5-6 pick this year, and one blue chip prospect then we should take it.

We won't get 2 1sts and a 2nd, but he can still help a number of teams out there

- AngryWhiteMale

no one with a potential lottery pick is trading it for Kessel. Period.

Kessel himself is the reminder of why you don't do that... and the fact he was traded for a lottery pick +, and is now being traded (in your scenario) is a further reminder to GM's of why you don't trade lottery picks.

It quite simply will not happen.

let it go

If he can't make the team beating out the likes of Bozak, Steckel and Connolly, he sure won't make it in the future

I actually agree with you for once.

Leafs might be trying to do what the kings did to Dustin Brown. A shot in the arm.
- Deadmau55

Difference is that Brown is capable of responding with toughness, leadership, determination, intangibles, as well as performance. Kessel might get hot for a few games, then disappear again.

Biggs' transition to regular hockey in the OHL has been very good. Part of that goes to Jenner, his linemate.

Mckegg tore up the CHL. He's done all he can there. It will take time to see how he adapts to playing in a league of grown men, but I figure we'll find out pretty quickly

I still think Coborne has promise. Ashton? That trade was a disaster.

They are all just depth players.. Maybe Biggs will turn into a solid 3rd or 4th liner

Colorado has lots of good young pieces, would be kinda dumb to trade them without knowing their full potential.

With Staal gone and Crosby with a mashed potato-brain, there's no way Pitts trades Malkin.

Did you know that Ashton played 15 games for the Leafs last year?

It totall blew my mind when I saw that.

I don't remember him at all. I don't remember him doing a single thing.

Which, of course, is correct. No goals or assists, although he did manage a -10 in 15 games, which is quite impressive when you consider he was only on the ice for 14 shifts a game.

How could he have possibly played 15 games?

Yeah I can't see COL making any drastic moves. They overpaid for Varlamov and the jury's out on Erik Johnson/Chris Stewart
