The Leafs biggest problem is that they can't rise to the compete level of their opponent. When a team turns it on (NYI, NYR) they got no push back. They have no leaders who elevate their game.. Sometimes you see Grabo or Mac do it but that's about it.

Oh yes I agree with this.

But that comes with being such a young team

Frattin played well,, but you can't assume that he will do that every game.. I hope he does though.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

No you can't. It's just a little ironic for you to call out the team for something they accomplished in spades the night before.

It's rare when they do.. They need veteran leadership. But im fine with them sticking with the young guns and drafting high.

David Clarkson should be a UFA target if he makes it July.

IMO leafs should be running the top 3 lines for like 17 mins a game. and get the 4th line out for 5 mins. ~approx

all three lines are dangerous, but sometimes the grabo line has to play a bit more because they are by far our best shutdown line.

Its not ironic at all.. Its an observation. Leafs have no push back. Yeah they stayed in the game last night and kudos to them. But it's rare when they do. They seems nervous with the lead.

i dont know what the hell you guys are gonna do once the leafs become a competitive team

prolly just find ways to complain about how they won

i fully expect lines like: "fail on the leafs, they only won 4-1, should of been 6-1 but they missed those two chances"

i cant imagine what its like to live with an anchor of negativity like that. i mean if its so bad.. why do you even continue to cheer and watch? its as if you are some sort of twisted sports fan massochist

You're right - didn't consider the contract. No contender will think it's worth taking on. I couldn't figure out that extension: 4 years at 4.25 while he was out with a concussion and not nearly that good in the first place!? He must've known something about Burke's personal life to score that deal, it made absolutely no sense.

To be honest, I haven't really noticed him out there, which is usually a good thing for a defenceman.

4 assists in 6 games - he hasn't been too shabby.

But yeah, I was loving him all over when he first arrived. We need that guy back.

And I sincerely doubt they will be buying him out.

Liles has been pretty good. Nothing great, but Liles hasn't been bad. Its a big contract, but I dont think its completely untradeable. Wont get a big return, but you'll get something.
