My comment on the Flyers game sweetie - you missed that one
Listen - you ride Miller all you want - you won't see the playoffs with him in net. - atlsabsfan

I hate to keep harping on this, but how could you possibly say that Weber was better than Myers?? Did you not see what he did in OT? He was solid in his end. Leo was a nightmare. Weber got 13 min of ice time. I'm sorry but if you look back a few pages i'm not the only one that thinks Myers was good and Ehrhoff was bad - sbroads24
Every good play you saw Myers make, was because he did something wrong just prior to it and had to save his own ass. I was at the game. There's a lot of stuff that you miss watching it on TV that you see when you're at the game and can look in any direction you want.
He was not good. Weber got 13 minutes of ice time because he missed 17 total minutes of the game due to penalties. Hard to get much more ice time when you're sitting in the box.
I also have no problem with the fact that he took those penalties. Someone needed to do that there. I'm glad someone stepped up and defended a teammate. Myers certainly wouldn't have. |

The team sucks. The whole team culture is terrible. I'm not going to sit here and say its this guy or that guy. Or than one trade here or there will change that. They aren't commited to winning. They have practially no idea what they are doing when it comes to putting a competitive NHL product on the ice. It doesn't mean some people aren't good. Miller is great. But his career is being pissed away. I hope he really enjoys the paychecks. |

Scoreboard ? Stats mean little unless you are talking about birdies and bogies when 16 other teams are still playing hockey - atlsabsfan
Quick and Fleury have 2 wins. The same amount as Miller. Rinne has 0. Lundqvist has 1 more win, but he's also played 1 more game. |

If they make the playoffs, it will be because of him.
God knows the rest of the lineup is a mess. |

What did he do wrong when he took the puck off Kessel's stick to stop a Leafs rush? Or the pass breakup after a faceoff? |

Sorry, I didn't take notes when I was at the game. I know what I saw. I don't have any specific examples. I was too busy trying to watch what was going on. |

You can't give the puck away if it's never on your stick. He's slow getting to the loose pucks. He's not moving his feet. He's doing too much standing around and waiting for things to happen. He's terrible along the boards.

Erhoff just seemed weak and unconfident. But why rag on one guy? This team isn't one guy away from being better. They are light years. |

Ehrhoff played over 28 minutes tonight. He did have a few giveaways, I'll give you that, but his game overall was solid. Sekera was fantastic.
The reason I say Myers wasn't good is because he's getting beat along the wall a lot, he's not getting to loose pucks quick enough. He's always a step behind. Instead of actually going in and trying to get the puck he just stands there hoping it pops out to him.
Not sure how obvious any of that is on TV, but when you've got a birds eye view, it's very noticeable. - HonkFortheGoose
i agree completely. ehrhoff was a beast tonight imo and sekera was pretty good (usually i don't like his game too much at least offensively).
myers was brutal and this is problematic. it was brutal watching him and after my second leafs game ever i've decided I know why people hate going to them in buffalo.
leo stood out to me, he seems like he takes on way too much and because he's not the most skilled guy he gets overwhelmed and makes awful mistakes.
our forward core is in transition and with injuries i think it's acceptable that it looks a little weird, i would think with leino we'd be a wee bit more solid but our d-core worries the heck out of me.
tj brennan was awful tonight and I get why people say he's not cut out for the nhl. |

I forgot the part I agree with Goose on - ask Lindy to take on a new role that isn't behind the bench... |

He does look slower this year. I think he needs to grow up and come to camp in shape. |

The only reason Hoff was better than Myers tonight is the fact that he wasn't paired with Leopold |

I haven't been ragging on Myers though. Today is the first day that I said his game was bad.
He's had a few moments in other games that I've been left wondering what's going on in his head, but tonight he just seemed worse.
Like I said, he seems to be a step behind everyone else. And he's just not effective that way. He's a positional guy, so if he's not in position, he's not being very effective. |

I agree to a point, but the pairings were getting shuffled up a lot because of Weber being out for a long stretch of the game. I'm sure that didn't help either though. Hard to get any type of continuity to your game when you're always out there with someone different. |

Honestly, I'm starting to come around on this. We have three players of value - Pommer, Vanek and Miller. IMO they should consider moving 2 of them for young pieces and rebuild in earnest. I don't believe this team can win the Stanley Cup as constructed.
You know what the difference between the Sabres and the Bills is right now? Next years draft is going to be really good in the NHL. |

The kids all need to hit the gym. Ennis - 57 - Vanek should have years ago - they need to be stronger... |
