I agree to a point, but the pairings were getting shuffled up a lot because of Weber being out for a long stretch of the game. I'm sure that didn't help either though. Hard to get any type of continuity to your game when you're always out there with someone different. - HonkFortheGoose
IMO the plays Myers is out of position for are the ones you expect a young defenseman to be out of position for. The good plays he does make, are ones no one else on this team can make, I really think he made some positive strides today |

Honestly, I'm starting to come around on this. We have three players of value - Pommer, Vanek and Miller. IMO they should consider moving 2 of them for young pieces and rebuild in earnest. I don't believe this team can win the Stanley Cup as constructed.
You know what the difference between the Sabres and the Bills is right now? Next years draft is going to be really good in the NHL. - nfph
I'm torn as to who I would want them to take if they got a high pick this year. I love Seth Jones, but MacKinnon could be more of a game changer.
Either way, I'd like either of them in Blue and Gold. |

He definitely made some good plays. I'm not gonna say he didn't. But a lot of them were created because he wasn't moving his feet fast enough.
His skating is what got him into the league in the first place. If that's a struggle for him right now, it's not surprising that he hasn't been the player we all know he can be. |

My vote is Pommer - he plays strong in all facets of the game and might be the least appreciated in terms of what you could get in return. Dump the coach too |

The kids all need to hit the gym. Ennis - 57 - Vanek should have years ago - they need to be stronger... - atlsabsfan
I thought Vanek looked fantastic tonight. He was all over the place. Seemed to have a good jump to his game. |

So you're saying you want to move Pommer, or he would be the 1 you would keep? |

Agreed. I lean to McKinnon just because I think we're still in better shape on the back end for the future. 1-2-3 of McKinnon, Gringo and Girgensons is extremely appealing. |

I don't disagree - but in another 20 games he will be so beat up because he goes into the areas he needs to and takes a beating. That's why I think he needs to be stronger - longevity in doing what he does best |

But, if you take Jones, you can flip some of your other D for some pieces as well. Maybe that means you can move Myers. I don't think they could go wrong either way though. |

Well, that extra point you got tonight moved you one step further away from seeing either of them in a Leafs uni. |

I think you get more back for Miller and for Vanek - keep Pommer.he is less of a "splash" for other teams in terms of reputation across the league. |

And then you take into account what Vanek and Miller brings back... |

I think you're right. He's been through it all too. Being waived, the nasty hit by Hjalmarsson. Being close to making it to the Stanley Cup finals.
I love the consistency that he has. He'd definitely be a good influence on the youngins |

Pominville is the perfect second liner on a Stanley Cup winning team.
On another note, what do you think the lines should be when Leino comes back?
Pominville - Hodgson - Vanek
Stafford - Ennis - Ott
Foligno - Grigorenko - Leino
Kaleta - Hecht - McCormick (whenever everyone is healthy)
X: Gerbe, Scott, Ellis |

He stays healthy most of the time too- except when he gets his calf sliced open....
Responsible on both ends - plays special teams - he stays if I get that choice out of those 3. |

Hate the coach. Until they change that, this team is not even close to a contender. |

I'll always hope they win. I just can't cheer for them to lose. But I'm not surprised when they lose these days.
On that note, it's past my bed time. Work beckons in the AM. |
