He looked like a rookie on the winning goal. - Pairo11
So did Miller. |

since his headbutting suspension he really hasnt been that much of a greaseball. not quite a matt cooke turnaround, but hes actually a useful player now. - robz228
Kaleta is damaged goods. He's no good when he can't stay on the ice. |

With both Vanek and Pommer being UFAs after next season.. I say.. sign them to the same 3-4 year deal worth about 6-6.5M... if Vanek sighs.. then forget him and I would prefer Pommer any way. - JVince11
Agreed, Pommer is a great and as much as I like Vanek he would prob bring back more at one of the trade deadlines. |

Paille is easily a 3rd liner on this team. Trading him made zero sense at the time. He actually has a role in Boston and is pretty solid defensively... Plus he has more skill then anyone on are 4th line.
BTW the people on WGR are tools and have no idea what they are talking about |

alright well if the package is that sweet then maybe... i really see Girgensons being our 2C of the future.. hard nosed on defense.. with offensive upside... big body on the forecheck... I know a lot of scouts thought that he was a future NHL captain and that is not easy to find any more. - JVince11
oh, i dont really know much about him so maybe im wrong. just going off the couple amerks games ive watched this year |

Jimmy Howard and Mike Smith are both UFAs at G after this season....
Miller is playing pretty good this season so far....
I think it looks solid to trade Miller+ out to California for that superstar forward we need and then try to sign Howard for about 3.5-4M this offseason. Smith or Nabakov would be the next best choices to split starts with Enroth. |

It takes a GM willing to think outside the box.
When Thornton was moved the entire hockey world thought it was the dumbest move in hockey history. - Pairo11
Honestly the Philly trade has backfired on them so far . Couterier is obviously going to be really good but Schenn looks very average, JVR is a much better player than Luke Schenn and they have no defense. Not to mention the 2 guys they traded have a Stanley Cup. |

Well..... we have said all along that it would take maybe one horrendous year for Lindy to get fired.... well if we are going to suck I would prefer it be this short season of 48 games.. and be going into the stacked draft that is coming up... - JVince11
ha! my wife was complaining after the game last night and i told her the exact same thing!!!
i can live with it this year. future seems very bright. just need to purge all involved with this recent era of indifference and irrelevance.

I'd pull a Philly or Boston really. Move Miller, Leo, regher, and Ennis for younger roster players and picks. Tank the season and retool for next year. Make a move for Bernier and O'Reilly. Fire Lindy. I don't think it's all doom and gloom, just change is needed.
I'd hate to tank but they could turn it around in one season like those two teams. - dadeadhead
Personally I would build our team around the up and coming youth in the system (Foligno, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Hodgson, Myers, McNabb). Move Vanek, Pommer and Miller. Get guys in return that are in their younger 20's and try to actually build something. |

Enroth seems like a goalie that needs to know his starts and that the team is on his shoulders... whenever we have needed him in long term situations he has been above average..
if Howard was signed... I would want Howard to start 62-68 games. That is the goal... the others would just be back up plans.. |

Not talking about those trades for Philly. Talking about them tanking in 06/07, firing their coach, trading for Biron, signing Briere, and drafting JVR. |

Enroth Stinks and has no business splitting starts with anyone. I do like the thought of moving Miller out west or maybe even to Colorado? |

I don't know a whole lot about the draft this coming year besides Jones and MacKinnion but I have heard it was the best draft coming in a long time. A top 5 pick in that draft could go a long way. |

Howard isn't that great either... If I was trading Miller I would trade him to a team with a top prospect goalie. I personally think enroth is a AHL goalie and thats it... |

Colorado gave up 2 1st rounders for Varlamov.. i can't see them sending him packing...
I don't mind the idea either...
Maybe even trade Miller to Detroit for Howard+ in order to extend him on our terms. Detroit needs defensive help too. |

Miller has to approve the trade don't forget.... I don't think we can just send him to Florida and get the beast and it all be nice and dandy... |

Millers limited NTC makes me think Colorado is a no thank you choice for Miller. Pominville has the same NTC. |

Miller is worth a top prospect goalie and a top 6 forward easily. |
