Sir i believe you are in the wrong place. Pointing out the good things about the organization is NOT ALLOWED HERE.

Please leave.

"good day sir, i said good day, sir!"

haha

in all honestly vanek and pommer look like they have actual bonafide chemistry that only comes when plays are decent and comfortable with playing with one another for years. we might have to break that up when contracts come up but it would be nice to not do that unless we really had to because they're some of our only true talent on offense.

Its pointless to focus on individual performance on this team. You can't tell if its bad coaching, bad linemates or what ever. We are a good goalie and a first line. Thats where it ends.

Nothing will change until the stands are empty are Terry Pegula is personally embarrased for ruining the Sabres.

I think we can keep them both, and miller...
They should all sign for around 6mil, give or take...
Maybe Darcy goes to them n tries to get them all to take a slight discount so that he can go after another "big fish" like Perry

Pominville is not a "bargain". He's right where he should be for his production. A bargain is when you pay less than market value.

My point is this: the Sabres have been overpaying guys in hopes that they grow into their contract for a while. That's been way too ineffective.

- buffalofan19

And they have also tried underpaying or "waiting it out" with guys too, again it's risk/reward

If he keeps extending contracts and rewarding mediocrity, and allowing the GM to field an AHL quality roster, this aint getting.

perry would be my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd priority in the off-season. clowe would be an option if all else fails but perry is a gamechanger that we could really use.

Based on his press conference when he took over the team and said "chains are off" its basically hiring darcy as a new gm. hes been the gm for 1 season under pegula, and nobody is complaining about his moves thus far. The only bad thing was not being able to sign richards, however i dont think it would have mattered who our gm was at that point.

Extending him is moot. When does a GM and/or coach ever just not get their contract renewed. They are 95% of the time fired. IMO, the extension means hardly anything.

Pegula/Ted black said it was a 3 year project. This is year 2. If after next season the Sabres are nowhere close to a stanley cup and nobody is fired, then I will start to question ownership. Until then, its just silly.

you forgot that John Scott is a terrible hockey player.. he is just as much or more of a roster waste as Ellis.. Having these two turds on the team really handcuffs your ability to ice a comptetive team
- SabresFaninIndiana

I honestly don't care if John Scott doesn't even look at the puck tomorrow.

I hope he gets ejected from the game from fighting too much.

I hope he fights Chara. Lucic wouldn't dare.

First shift, Ott runs Rask.

Riot ensues.

Bruins win 6-1.

I don't think lucic would back down from anyone. if hes challenged and has a real reason to go, i think he would.

If they had signed Vanek to a 6 mil a year deal before his ELC was up, we would have said it was over payment because since that year he has not come close to the production he had when he signed the deal, yet still in the long run would have saved cap space beacuse as we all know EDM gave him an offer sheet. There very well could have been a team like Philly that would have offered Myers a bigger contract when he was eligible. As far as I know, I don't think any GM would have let Myers walk on an offer sheet

People get so defensive when I criticize Terry. Truth is he is the nicest guy in hockey, maybe in pro sports ownership. It gives me that warm and fuzzr feeling when I get run out our building by leafs fans. Or when I look at the standings for the 3rd season of his ownership and see we are still in 11th place. He hasn't even realized how far behind he is from being competitive let alone a cup run. Then how long will it take from that point to see results.

Stanley cup is right around the corner. I can feel it.

He doesn't. And when you hit him with a punch, it just pisses him off. Scott's a big boy, but he better be ready to take on a lion in sweet Lu.

I guess Lucic might dare, Orr fought Scott and Lucic has an inch on him.

Chara/Scott could be epic though.

Agreed, but it's not just his skating that has to develop. If Myers is going to be an all-star, it's not going to be for a while. The question becomes: is it worth the wait?

While I would def like Perry,
IMO our #1 and maybe even #2 need is defense
We already have a pretty good group of forwards and next year (at the latest, maybe in as soon as a month) Armia will be an added "sniper" in our top9
Our defense is (and has been) wildly inconsistent, at best
We do have a lot of young talent coming on defense,
But for whatever reason, it usually takes them longer to find consistency
We need at least one top4 physical, shot-blocking vet to help stabilize our defense corps
Maybe 2

Maybe getting Perry allows us to trade Stafford or whoever to get that defenseman,
But defense is quite clearly what we NEED

I think it's more like "what are our other options?"
I'm fine with trading Myers,
But tht leaves a hole in an already suspect defense we'd need to fill

i think a big problem with our defense is they are all offensive minded or slow as hell.. We need a stay at home guy that has a speed higher than nuetral
