Definitively no but I'd be willing to bet on it. Let me try your approach. What do you think would be a realistic return for Nielsen? - Cptmjl
i would package him in a deal for a player with some grit IE ryane clowe, milan lucic
(emphasis on package, i dont think neilson would get it done straight up).
AND this is all assuming strome or someone else is available to be called up...of course bailey is also a center by trade (i prefer him on wing personally) |

Kinda off Topic but Carolina just put Zach Boychuk on waivers...
You think the Isles bite? I would. Then try to sneak Finley thru waivers to Bridge. If not, no big loss there... - Bags502
Well he is a former first round pick.... so I am guessing Garth's first round pick waiver wire alert just went off in his office.
boychuk.. (the other one).. to the Islanders .. imminent. |

Haha and supposivley Boychuk thought that the Isles were gonna draft him cuz they did extensive research and interviews with him... Why not? Garth claim him up... Has to be better then Finley but who knows |

Also, I have been reading a lot on here about OK.. If he is not a first line winger, and certainly not a third line checker. He's not a forth line banger,
What the Frank is he good for.? |

I don't want to trade Streit.. he is fantastic on the PP.. I just want someone to smack him in the head. His defensive break downs are just Lazy. That is what is so frustrating.
Okposo.. Mr. Black I usually agree with a lot of your points. I don't on this one. It is not a comfort issue with Ok. To me it is effort. When he actually gives a damn he is one of our better players. He just doesn't give 100% very often.. I won't go so far as to call him Kvasha.. but he does too much flopping around looking for calls instead of hustling and playing hockey. No matter what line he plays on he is OFTEN the last person back on defense. It is just not acceptable. |

There is no way I trade Nielsen either by the way. He is being asked to do a lot on this team. 90% of us feel he is a perfect shut down 3rd line center. Next year he will have that role... he is also a fantastic PK guy and one of the best shootout players in the league. For what he is getting he is well worth it. |

Whats with all the hostility towards Nielsen? The guy is a great player for us. He is a solid two-way player and is ideal as a third line center. Every competitive team needs a guy like Frans. Just because he's mis-cast right now as a second line center doesn't mean he should be dumped. Once we get a legit second line center, having a guy like Frans is going to be huge. |

"But this is an example of folks probably taking my (our) assessment a bit too much to the extreme. No one is 'killing' Frans over this. It is a simple evaluation that Frans has coughed up the puck a few times because someone was within 5 feet of him and it looked like he wanted to skate up into the upper deck."

No, seriously, where can the boy fit on the team. The TEAM is starting to really gel, can he fit in.. The others seem to be growing and maturing, he is missing the maturing boat.... |

I think thats most people's opinion here? He has looked more comfortable on the wing prob bcs it's less demanding defensively? I'd like him to get a good look on the first line, think he'd be a good fit. |

That's a good question? Third line as far as I'm concerned. Worse thing that can happen we spread some scoring out if it works. |

They would be smart to extend Streit, even if its just by a year or two. He isn't shut down in his end by any stretch, but he brings a lot to the table, on the ice and off. As for KO, the core of my issues with him are his skating. I think he is just a miserable skater. Even worse, he hasn't improved in his skating since he became a regular. Maybe his effort isn't there also, but I don't think he's loafing. I just think his skating is so poor that he can't keep up. |

Really...are we doing this again?
No one is suggesting Nielsen be dumped. We were simply noting how Frans totally disappears against physical competition. |

That statue will become known as the Curse of the Chief! Pitt will never win another championship so long as the Chief is mocked in that statue! - Jethro09
Loved when the announcers were talking about the statue and pronounced Pilon's last name like Pylon, like a street cone. One of my fav Isles. His interviews with his voice were priceless |

I think Okposo has shown decent chemistry with Frans and Grabs over the last couple of years. I'd probably suggest for the time being that he's best off there. |
