basically its when the shoulder dislocates... without fully dislocating. It slips out a bit but slides right back in.. can be rather painful, but relatively damage free. It can often be reoccurring as well though. - jak521
yeah, but was does. dr. recchi say about it? |

Yep. Jacoby Ellsbury from the Red Sox had a sublaxed shoulder and missed like 3.5 months. |

EDIT: Totally read that as What is a partial dislocation... - jak521
Also, if there is something known as a bony Bankart lesion (basically a piece of the glenoid chips off) that could be a reason for the subluxation. |

Are there varying degrees though? I would assume it's possible. Ellsbury's could be worse than Callahan's right? |

I just commented again... Basketball players sublux all the time and play within a few days. They actually have braces that help support the shoulder. Typically, if there is no Bankart, these are treated with pretty intense PT. Can be anywya. |

indeed, especially considering the weight gain ... the career would have been over in the seventies had he been a woman.

Jak would know better than I. I believe there are varying degrees. 10-14 days seems like a very aggressive time frame.
What exactly was the diagnosis with Meszaros' shoulder? |

Meszy has (in my educated guess, because they are so (frank)ing vague) a deltoid tear... likely at the attachment. Easily misdiagnosed as a shoulder separation early on.
EDIT:
I actually wouldnt be surprised if he meant 2-10 days. |

Yikes. Do deltoid tears usually require surgery? Is it realistic that Meszaros could rehab it to where he could build up enough strength to play in 4 weeks? I'm skeptical. |

I personally had a grade 2 separation and deltoid tear at the attachment. I was back to normal in about 6 weeks, but was playing in 3. All depends. You will have considerable weakness early on. |

Gotcha. Not sure if it's the same shoulder that Meszaros had the labrum surgery, if it is, that would have to be a factor I would think. |
