It was a dirty hit, but it was penalized (Buffalo would have had the PP if it were not for the Instigator Penalty). The ref had to call an instigator, as the rule book states. We have seen players get suspended for less, for sure. It was disrespectful of Brown. Even though Kaleta is one of the dirtiest, most disrespectful players in the game, that should definitely not be considered when handing out supplemental discipline.
At the end of the day, no matter who you cheer for, whether a player is a douche on the ice or not, you never want to see anybody seriously hurt.

I wonder.........did Kaletta see his psychiatrist while he was getting checked out? Did he see his hypnotist while there? Did he get a redux on trying to consider himself a real hockey player? Kaletta is exactly the kind of player that needs to be eliminated from the NHL. The game should be played tough, among men of honour. Fights happen, so does hitting. Mugging the other players scorers, are another thing. If it wasn't for the instigator rule, Kaletta would be out of hockey, instead of making megabucks being an A$$hole.
