By the way. Much respect to Thornton for initiating and going with shrek Scott. The guy is an offensive lineman on skates and dare I say it has no real role in this league. However, it is what it is. They won't dress him in the playoffs and he's not going to play more than 5 mins. Go b's |

Holy role-reversal Batman, funny how a poop-kicking can sap the crowd and team of its will. I feel bad for Thornton, has gone to war for the team a million times, gets his ass kicked and the team reacts like this? Outhit by this lineup of midgets? Oh well, I hope the stench of the "Scott flu" game goes away quick... Need the sack back. And the timeout, while a bit of a female dogslap, was just Ruff noticing Mac D on the ice after the empty netter and him wanting to make sure that he had the Hitman out there just in case. |

sorry stan, that fight had nothing to do with the actual outcome of the game
they took a 3-1 lead after that and were flying
they played poop D and didn't bury the gazillion opportunities that they had
miller made some nice stops but was leaving rebounds all over the place
i doubt everyone didn't bear down and not bury it because they were thinking about john scott |

Crowd dead, team not hitting. Sorry man but seeing Thornton go down like that had an impact, whether you want to admit it or not. Just like all those years of seeing Odgers go down. Scott had a (frank)ing breakaway a few shifts later! Clode/team did not know how to react physically and didn't.
I said it before the game: Looch and Thornton had contributed to the fisticuffs up until now in this young season, with Thornton having a lengthy bout with Barch last game. Nothwithstanding this, Chara is the guy who usually takes care of the plus sized guys. Just last year he suqared off against Shelley, years past Laraque, Koci, etc. This was a case of Clode not wanting his Norris trophy to fight a meathead when you just re-upped Thornton to take those lumps. Logical and quite rational. But we all saw the (frank)ing result even if you don't want to register them for some unknown reason. Fact of the matter is that it was Chara's turn. Totally understand not wanting to put Chara at risk, but Z took it upon himself many times in the past. |

Problem is Thornton initiated it off the draw against the boards as a statement and he bit off more than he could chew. Giving up that much size is tough as it is and also it was shreks first shift. Not a good idea to have that fight and definitely something that had a bit of an adverse effect. Defense was horrible on both sides. |

3 guys missing from practice today ...
Bergeron - They're not saying much ... Could be that he's just banged up / sore. Could be worse. Don't really know yet.
Paille - His eye is probably swollen shut after the high stick last night ...
Thornton - Out 7-10 days with a concussion (means at least 2 weeks).
----------------------------------------------------------------
The D was poop last night, sure ... But they still beat us and beat us up. That is our game. We let it happen. Should have been all hands on deck last night in the fighting department. Chara should have gone with Scott. Lucic should have gone with somebody... anybody. Instead we let them run around, intimidate, play our game and they won.
It was an embarassment.
Is this the kind of shame Slug fans have been feeling for all of these years? |

The tone after the realization that Thornton was gone and the lack of retribution for that is what deflated the team, IMO.
Fairly certain that Clooooooooode had everyone on a tight leash, but that leash needs to be loosened when guys are getting beat down and injured in your own building. Hell, Dougie even took an elbow up high without retribution.
Every action by the Sabres last night went unanswered. That's not Bruins hockey. |

Uterus apparently had a maintenance day today as well ...
Good news is that he and Bergeron are expected back in the lineup tomorrow.
Huge moral victory for Buffalo last night. Safe to say they are no longer scared of the Bruins.
Haven't been this disappointed in the Bruins in a very long time ... |

if they saw the elbow I would agree and that was late in the game, i haven't seen anyone mention that they had
it's not like the sabres were running people last night whatsoever..the b's sucked giant Richards on d
was marchand wondering about the fight or thornton when he went around 3 guys and scored?
they had the game where they wanted it and they (frank)ing imploded
this will turn into a laraque situation now..do you really want someone breaking their hand on this jackasses head who plays 3 minutes a game
if you call someone up to do it it takes away a roster spot, but you can't do nothing either

short of signing someone, i'm not sure who you throw at scott to answer or send a message or anything. macdermid would poop his pants. its just like the boogard and worrell and even laraque to an extent. these guys are just so much bigger and stronger that fighting them is extremely risky (see: fedoruk, todd)
i guess chara could go with him if he does anything out of the ordinary or crazy but all in all that guy shouldn't have an impact on the game. he came out of the box and elbowed peverly and got another penalty which they didn't score on. giving up two goals after going up 3-1 was a back breaker, then they go up 4-3 and poof they crumble.
5-1-1 is still good.

i have my area pretty mapped out so the reviews are just for laughs for me. i was a pretty heavy "hobbyist" for a while and used to like the suspense of not knowing what was going to go down. this was before this site so i've had to go to 3 in a day to get a nut off. its worth $15 though to sign up for a month and then get the lay of the land and cancel the account. (i assume you have a prepaid credit card so the wife doesn't track it or anything else) think of it this way, its better than going somewhere that has fat old ladies. the r&t scene out in CA is pretty insane. there's over 3100 here vs 73 in hawaii, so yeah you want to be sure the place is good to go...

This stuff about being embarassed and the fight swinging momentum is ludicrous. The momentum swung when Z decided to give the midget a reach around after Looch was already going to the box. Once they tied it up the D just decided to go full (frank)tard and play the Sabres firewagon game. Aside from the freakshow dummying Thornton the Sabres weren't more physical, sh!t they didn't even have more chances than the B's. They just decided to give Vanek an odd man rush every time he was on the ice for the second half of the game and the Sabres finished when we didn't.
Christ it was a tie game half way into the 3rd. |
