im confused we have to many d men already so we trade one and bring one up so we still have too many,

I do agree a deal has to be coming....right?

- hubie

I just want McNabb in the line-up
This non-sense that he's been "bad" in the AHL is a joke to me
A defenseman without good offensive #s, that gets named to the AllStar team, must be looking pretty good "defensively"
And I like how he looked with Myers last year

I'd do...
Giordano-Ehrhoff
McNabb-Myers
Sekera-Weber/Regehr/Sulzer

I'd rather have McNabb up here providing toughness & developing chemistry with Myers... Even if it means we gotta let him make mistakes that young guys make
Our defense has been mediocre anyways

I wouldn't mind bringing in a top 4 d-man because we are relying on Leo and Regehr for that and they are shells of it so far this year...

I woul dhave no problem with this as long as Leo/Sekera were going out the door somewhere else for a top 6 winger... ala Matt Read or Colin Smith.

I have ot agree... when McNabb was up in Buffalo last year he fit right in.. he was a big body guy.. he hit people.. he didn't make a lot of mistakes.. i think him in Rochester has taken away some motivation.

When McNabb gets moved up here, it'll be at the same time as Pysyk. I think they're grooming them to play together. I like what I've seen as well. They compliment each other very well.

Im afraid McNabb is Mike Weber 2..
- BuffaloKyle

He has more talent than Weber
I'm obviously biased bc I've been a fan of this kid for a while now...
But I think his ceiling is "Pronger 2.0"
And will at least be "Orpik 2.0"

Either way, we could use his grit on the line-up

all of the Dmen in Rochester have been a healthy scratch at times. It's how they manage to get all of them some game time. McNabb has been fine. He had a rough game when they played here in Buffalo at the end of December, but his play is just fine.
- HonkFortheGoose

Thanks for clearing that up. I had heard about him being scratched and all of the conclusions that people jump to from there too much, but didn't have the first hand knowledge of the situation, so I just shut my mouth.

I could be wrong about this because I didn't watch all of the games last year, but from what I saw McNabb threw the hardest hits I've seen from any Sabre with an ounce of skill in some time. I don't remember him screwing up any worse than the other options. It makes me wonder why we call up Brennan when most of our NHL Dmen don't really like to hit too much and we already have solid PP point men.

We dont have the players to get a top 4 d man

WOuld have to trade like a Armia and if that happend this board would explode.

The Sabres dropped the ball by not calling up Tarnasky for tonight.

Should have placed Kaleta on IR for the call-up.

I honestly don't think anything is going to happen tonight. It's no fun to bully someone when they have the capability to fight back. So I don't see Boston even trying anything and if one of our guys tries to start something, Boston won't bite.

"After their skate, Bruins coach Claude Julien announced that he is scratching Chris Bourque in lieu of AHL dancing bear, Lane MacDermid."

Sounds to me like they're planning to rape and pillage.

I like it, but it doesn't solve the lack of secondary scoring.
- Dwight K. Schrute

I like Ott playing w ennis & stafford,
That should get that line going bc he can actually win a faceoff & they won't have to spend half their shift chasing the puck, they can instead attack

We do need to find another winger to play on that 3rd line w Grigorenko (I like Foligno there)
Leino should be back soon and will get a shot
Flynn & Adam are possible call-ups with some offensive ability
And Armia could be a wild card,
He will like join Rochester in about a month when his team in finland's season is over
He might get a shot too

And there's always the possibility of a deadline trade too

There is an interesting thought.

I agree. That would have been a a good move for tonight especially seeing that there is no Kaleta.

Anything is better than Matt Ellis. Tarnasky will actually score in the AHL too.

Love it.. but IDK why Cal would trade us Gio... they have their little "core" of Sarich, Wideman, and Gio".. they know J-Bo isn't worth poop.. and Butler has been decent.
- JVince11

They need to rebuild,
Plus, go to cap geek & check out their situation for next year
Even if they get rid of J-Bo, they are still in really bad shape as far as the cap goes
