this is so stupid. you should want to go into a game trying to score more goals than the other team not trying to beat more people up

Any idea and what is going on with McCormick? If he is ready Kaleta to the IR McCormick dresses. I really dont like the fact that "Insane Lane" has been recalled. Looking at our lineup assuming Gerbe plays we have what 3 guys that will throw? Scott, Ott, and Foligno with Weber being a human punching bag (i respect him but he cant fight). There will be one fight Scott vs Thorton. Scott was brought here just for the Bruins so if he doesnt drop him he could see the waiver wire real quick!! Maybe Ott and Campbell since they have history

I didnt think Cody would be out this long

I don't see Darcy trading for a guy like that that's going to be UFA and might walk on us...
He just won't give up the assets it'd take
Ryan I could see happening bc he is signed

I'm curious why you (and others) think Armia won't be able to contribute right away?

He was supposed to go #6 in the draft and luckily fell to us
He's been good for his Finland team this year
And
He dominated the World JRs this year (6-6-12pts, 6games)...
He was far more impressive than Grigorenko or Galchenyuk who are both contributing right away
The only guy w more pts in the tourney was Nugent-Hopkins (15, played an extra game though)

I'm not saying he'll be amazing right away
But he could be the piece that helps our 3rd line score more consistentlyHe's big & has a nasty shot

- jdfitz77

Problem is the biggest knock on Armia has been his consistancy

No, he wouldn't back down. Just as Weber, Ott or Regehr (anyone know if he's back in???) wouldn't.

However, the only guy with a chance at handling himself with Lu is Scott.

One of the problems (among many) with playing the Bruins, is that when it does finally get down to "chucking the knucks" (as Garf loves to say far too often), besides sweet Lu, they have McQuaid, Marchand, Campbell, Horton and Thornton all willing to throw 'em.

- Powerslave

I really doubt Horton is going to fight anyone. He's a concussion away from being soup for brains and he's on their top line. No one should be afraid to fight Marchand either.

Except Marchand, Horton and Campbell arent a threat at all.

I think the worst thing you can do is go in there and try to rile them up. They are the best in the league at responding to that. You will lose that battle almost everytime

Sounds like a whimp move made by the Bruins to me.

Sabres are not altering their lineup for the Bruins but the Bruins are for the Sabres.

The move for Scott is already paying off in my opinion. Julien is manipulating his lineup in fear of what he thinks may happen.

Darcy and Lindy win the battle so far in my opinion.

- BuffaloHardHat

Bruins 5-0-1
Sabres 2-3-1

The only battle that matters we are far from winning

He still has to adjust to the speed of the game, the smaller ice and develop chemistry with someone. I don't see that happening overnight.

For what its worth Chris Bourque has brought nothing to the table so far and many Bruins fans have been clamoring for someone else to be given a chance. Lane is the Bruins 13th foreword/scratch right now and it makes sense to start him over Bourque. This wasn't a call up from Providence to send a message, this is dressing a tough guy in a game vs a divisional opponent that will have John Scott determined to fight someone.

About as decent as Kaleta or McCormick who arent threats to anybody. He'll throw down, but he rarely wins.

Just as long as his inconsistencies line up in alternating order with Mr. Stafford's I think it would be an improvement over naught.

not last year in Buffalo....we went at em, I think there was 2 or 3 fights and we won 6-0.

However I dont think thats a good game plan on the road

wow, I have a lot more respect for McCormick as a fighter than you do I guess.

Derek Dorsett disagrees that Kaleta isnt a threat to anybody.

I've never heard that

But even if it were true...
What young player doesn't struggle w consistency?

I'm just saying he might be a piece that fits on the 3rd line
And if guys that he out produced (by a lot) in the World JRs tourney are contributing NOW, I don't see why he can't have something to offer too?

they bring up somebody that will fight and protect teammates if needed, we put in a 5'4 guy. Typical.
- Homer

You missed the point of the post.

I know Sulzer is going in in place of Brennan but am I missing something with your 5'4" reference?

There not allowed to in Buffalo. Just wait 2-3 years when Grigorenko is the face of scrutiny here

Armia is very much like Vanek. He's got the tools, but he tends to disappear for stretches.
