except karlson rarely makes a awful play and karlson has a way better shot.

Honestly, he makes a ton of mistakes. His shot is nasty though. Just the other day I saw him dangle the poop out of like 3 players on the penguins then cycle it and take a huge blast from the point. Then the puck came back his way and he fumbled it at the blue line giving up a huge breakaway. All in 30 seconds. I could probably look through his tape and find you 20+ similar situations by him.

You could argue that he hasn't been 'the best,' but I totally disagree that his negatives outweigh the positives. If he hasn't been the best, he's been second best, IMO. He is sound in his own zone, and has been good at holding the line in the O zone. Makes very few sloppy passes.

And he hasn't been fighting for a spot for years. He's played 145 out of 164 games over the last two seasons, and every game so far this year. He's only now turning 26, only now getting to the age that defensemen enter their prime. He's gotten better every year. You can't hold grudges against young players forever; a lot of them do get better over time, and Sekera is definitely one of them.

- BuffaJoe

I can sum up Sekera easily. Take a look at any 3 games he plays and this is what you get:
1.) He is the best player on the ice
2.) He is the worst player on the ice
3.) You dont notice if he is on the ice

Thats him in a nutshell

Why would they when they can wait & let the bidding take place?
Plus they can pretty much chose where they wanna go as well

i think this is just normal fan hatred of a player. once they dislike the player they will only focus on the negatives. happens with all our players.

smehlik was a good defenseman for buffalo but fans hated him with a passion because he wasn't physical.

I'll always allow a player to redeem themselves with good play. When Sekera was first trying to make the team, I didn't see a lot there. He didn't have the size, and didn't have the skill. He's visibly a LOT stronger than he used to be, and his skills have improved vastly. I like players based on their contribution to the team, so my like for them varies.

I'm not saying I think he has it in him... I don't; but you mean to tell me if Stafford all the sudden became an 80 point player, you still wouldn't like him?

Also, I totally forgot about Sekera's affordability. Considering that, I'd say we're getting a hell of a value. Gotta love that.

Wow, I fear that his statement had little to do with hockey. He may wanna go with rustytrombone instead of rustbelt.

I wish every GM around the league was as high on him as you.

I feel this way about Stafford and history proves it he is very veyr very good in stretches I want a player hwo can be consistent all year long.

Its just like OV take away his empty net goals and hes not a 40 goal scorer anymore. but he puts in 14 of them a year and there he is right around 50

Have we decided what this team actually needs? Like Scoring Centers top 4 D or what? Besides the obvious reason of all the above
